Sjarmerende gammelt hus
Artist House er et gammelt hus med mye sjarm. Interiøret er flott med mange antikke møbler og smakfullt innredet. Du føler nesten at du er hjemme hos noen på besøk. Det ligger sentralt til i den eldre delen av Key West, og med gangavstand til severdigheter som Hemingways hus og USAs sørligste punkt. Vertskapet er veldig hyggelige og du føler deg godt mottatt. På grunn av den sentrale beliggenheten er det en del støy på kvelden og natta, men med sov i ro i ørene gikk det greit.

Thank you for your review of The Artist House. We are a botique B&B/Guesthouse contained within a circa 1890 Queen Anne Victorian Mansion. While our central location in the heart of Old Town Key West does sometimes result in more noise than we prefer, we do provide white noise machines for those guests that are light sleepers. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you come back to see us soon.

Hotell med sjel
Et nydelig lite hotell med særpreg. Rommet var en drøm. Hvikepulsen inntreffer idet man går inn døra her. Personalet var veldig hyggelige og behjelpelige. Et mye minimum at man må betale såpass mye for å leie en enkel sykkel når man allerede betaler så mye på hotellet. Nydelig frokost servert på et lite kjøkken, som man spiser i den sjarmerende bakhagen. Gang- og sykkelavstand til alt på Key West. Et hotell verdt å besøke!

Enestående- personlig og hyggelig!
Vi ble tatt i mot som familie på dette lille hyggelige gjestehuset i tradisjonell Key West stil. Stedet har 7 særegne og rom bevart i sin opprinnelige stil. Vertskapet var suverene, de satt frem forfriskninger på ettermiddagen og frokost ble satt frem på kjøkkenet om morgenen. Ingen luksushotell kan måle seg med dette.

Perfect!
Absolutely the best spot if you want to be close to Duval. The staff are fantastic, the beds comfy and breakfast and happy hour are a very nice perk. We loved the soak pool at night. We’ll be back! Just a note- we stayed in the Sun Room and the stairs are steep. Didn’t bother us but it might be a challenge for some.

Most memorable stay
Memorable stay at the Artist House in Key West. From the moment stepping inside, the place is special. Every room has its own design and layout, and feels extra special. The house has a warm and special character. The location near Duval Street, ports, beaches is ideal. Jessica was extremely helpful in finding good tour boat activities and helping us get settled in. She's very friendly. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour each day offered wonderful choices. The only drawback is having to search for your own limited free parking spots on streets a few blocks away, but that's the case for everyone in Key West. We travel often and stay in a few dozen hotels/nights each year in many states/countries, and sometimes we search for a top memorable stay. This will be remembered as one of our most special, ideal and memorable stays anywhere.

If its available- BOOK IT!
One of my favorite places i've ever stayed. Staff was incredibly friendly. The house is STUNNING. So charming and full of detail. Our room, the Anne suite, was darling. Everything was clean and comfortable. The Artist House clearly values fine details such as beautiful decor, upscale tea and teacups, and a dreamy bath tub. Breakfast was delicious and the bagels were fresh and soft. Anything you needed could be found downstairs from first aid to a snack or drink. The dipping pool was perfect after a hot day walking around. Our room did not filter noise very well on the weekend night, but Artist house provided a noise machine and earplugs! I would stay here again and again.

Fabulous B&B! We stayed in the spacious Anne suite. Hosts were all welcoming and gracious. Breakfast was amazing. Cute courtyard. Nothing at all bad about this stay. Would definitely do again. You get so much more than a bland ‘ole cookie cutter hotel. And if that wasn’t enough, the location is great too! Easy to get to shopping, dining, bars, boats, & beach 4 thumbs way up ❤️

Never stayed in a B&B before so this stay gave me a good impression on what a bed and breakfast is like. Beds were quite comfortable, we stayed in the Turret Suite. The decor was exquisite and detailed. Parking was an issue, however we used this APP SpotAngel and showed us 2 small strip that offered free parking. This B&B is in a lm excellent location and walkable to all of Duval St. The ladies at the check-in were wonderfully friendly. -Jimmy

We appreciate your kind words about our “comfortable” beds, “wonderfully friendly” staff, “exquisite” decor and “excellent” location. As you mentioned, we are smack dab in the heart of Old Town Key West. While this gives us a spectacular location, we do not have on premises parking, because our home and Old Town was built before the advent of the automobile. While this is inconvenient, there are many parking options within a block or two of our home and I promise you that once parked, you will never see your car during your entire vacation. Key West is best seen by foot or bike and a car is nothing but an inconvenience once one arrives in town. In regard to your first B&B experience, thank you. While we are sort of a hybrid between a B&B and a historic guesthouse, we do offer a complimentary European style continental breakfast each and every morning. Unlike some New England traditional B&B’s, we offer the quaint historic home and decor but allow our guests to serve themselves rather than be tied down to a scheduled breakfast seating. So, thank you again for your kind words and patronage. We hope to see you back soon.

Overall this property is nice. The decor is very traditional. The ceilings are high and the room is spacious. The staff are really helpful. But the house is old and not well insulated so you can hear everything that goes on outside your room and on the street. Also although Expedia stated that there is free parking within 250 feet but that is not true. Street parking will cost you about $40 a day but there is a parking lot nearby which is about $20 per day. Expedia needs to update their website to provide more accurate information.

Karina, Thank you for taking the time to review The Artist House. Yes, you are exactly correct regarding the insulation. Our historic guesthouse was built in 1890, before the advent of air conditioning, and these old Conch homes were purposely built without insulation to allow cross breezes and ventilation. With that history comes the drawbacks of noise and higher electric bills. For those guests who prefer the more predictable vacation stays, there are plenty of wonderful modern built hotels in Key West. For those who love the authentic step back in time, we just may be up your alley. As for parking, ditto. Our home was built before the advent of the automobile. As such, we do not have on premises parking but usually can find a spot within a block or two of our home. We also have a loading/unloading spot right in front of the house. As for Expedia, I am not sure the reason they may have faulty information on their site. We always encourage our guests to go on line to our official site, browse the pictures and even call to assure we provide the best room that fits your individual needs. So thank you again for your patronage. We hope to see you back soon.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at The Artist House. Although we arrived after hours, the owners left us an envelope with instructions, and the email with information was helpful, too! I enjoyed the continental breakfast each day, the wading pool was fun each evening, and we enjoyed the private balcony from our room. We stayed in the Turret Suite, which sleeps 4, has two full sized bathrooms (a walk in shower with double shower heads, and a claw foot rub from the 1800s (took full advantage of both). The beds were immensely comfortable, and the seating area was a nice place to hang out and drink champagne. We also met the owners on our last day, and they were a delight! As our first b&b experience, we couldn’t have made a better choice!

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was mediocre. Eggs were microwaved instead of cooked. TV also seemed old and picture was not clear and crisp and was not able to move TV to watch in bed so side view was the best we could watch overall it was a fun place to stay.

Lovely accommodations with the friendliest and most helpful staff (Jessica and Cassidy). Beautiful room (Parlor Suite) and amenities. Breakfast cooked my Lisa was tremendous. Enjoyed the plunge pool and the courtyard. The kitchen was open at all times in case of a snack or beverage need. Happy hour included beer/wine and snacks.

Parking was terrible. We drove down from Florida City, if you fly into Key West don't rent a car. From the Artist House most places are within a 12 minute walk. Wonderful location close to everything.

Lori, Yes, Old Town Key West was built long before the automobile. On street parking can usually be found within a couple of blocks from our home. Also, there are a few parking garages around town that we send to our guests upon booking a room. As you point out, there is no need to have a car in Key West. Our home is in the heart of the action and one can walk or ride a bike to everything anyone would want to do in town.

This is a lovely Victorian home that made for a comfortable and convenient stay for me and my husband. It is in easy walking distance to Duval Street and many restaurants, shops and attractions. The staff is great and we enjoyed our stay in the Parlor Room, which provide a huge sitting area and large, private bathroom.
