«This lodge is a very good local experience. Although the lodge needs more attention to get it to excellence, they are VERY friendly and accommodating.
The rooms are spacious - needs a little re-design, but overall good.
The restaurant is set and neat, food not restaurant level, but if you are happy with a quick meal made by the manager/driver/cook/handyman, all good.
They drove us to a restaurant for dinner, and made the breakfast (toasted egg sandwiches - very nice).

«Arrived at the hotel to be told we didn't have a booking and they had.not been on your books for 4 yrs Advise by owner and taxi driver that it was not safe for us to stay in the area as it was the poorest part of town We had to find alternate accommodation late in the afternoon at a cost of over $600,this was a very stressful situation for 2 females I have used Expedia several times in the past with no problems I feel that i should be re embursed for out of pocket expenses»

«There are two Kakwele Lodges. The one we stayed at was further from the airport in a back street of Lusaka, about a 20 minute drive. We were charged $15 for each of the 4 journeys to and from the airport, which I considered to be excessive.
The room at the lodge was adequate, but a little cramped (especially the shower). Lighting was dim with no bedside or desk light. There were broken loose tiles around the small pool.
Service was friendly but less than prompt.

«Sam the general Manager is very helpful and goes out of his way to assist you whenever he can.
The staff are very friendly and give you the feeling that they are to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible nothing seems to be to much trouble.
The best of being self catering but with all the facilities that you would get in a hotel ie meals cooked to order plus plus.
The only item that is missing for me was that there was no gym and i am an exercise fanatic.»

Water pressure was marginal for the shower- just a trickle. The bed was a plastic-encased hard mattress covered with a top sheet. The AC and the WiFi worked, but this was not worth the price at all. Plus, though it seems close to LUN on the map, it isn’t. 30 min taxi to get there. »
