Truly a unique, surreal desert retreat like no other, this massive Quonset hut combines industrial design with refined interiors, soaring ceilings, and sweeping desert views. Step inside and discover an open-air sanctuary where floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic vistas and natural light floods the space. At its heart sits a full-sized 1969 Chris Craft Motoryacht, reimagined into a fully functional tiki boat bar, an unexpected centerpiece that makes this destination truly one-of-a-kind.



Floor-to-ceiling windows open on both sides to dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, revealing vast desert and mountain horizons. The open-concept design flows with energy and light, while outside, the desert invites you to soak in the hot tub or gather around the fire pit for breathtaking sunsets and unforgettable nights beneath the stars.



Inside, every detail has been carefully curated; from century-old Persian, Turkish, and Kazakhstani rugs to eclectic tiki artifacts, cosmic décor, and a vintage McIntosh sound system paired with a handpicked vinyl collection. Whether you’re lounging beneath an interdimensional chandelier, sinking into a brutalist armchair, or mixing cocktails at the Tiki Boat Bar, Shores of Saturn offers an immersive experience that blends desert modernism with otherworldly imagination.

The living room is the heart of the hut. A large leather sectional invites you to sink in, surrounded by sunlight pouring through the tall windows. At its center, a full-sized 1969 Chris Craft motoryacht has been reimagined into a fully functional tiki boat bar: the perfect spot to mix a cocktail and raise a glass to the stars with a record spinning on the vintage player. For cozy movie nights, a 50-inch smart TV is also available, giving you the option to stream your favorite shows or films after a day of desert adventures.



-Kitchen & Dining-

Anchored by custom white oak cabinets and high-end appliances, the kitchen is designed for both practicality and indulgence. An island bar seats four and is ideal for casual meals or morning coffee, while a dining table for four provides space for a shared dinner framed by desert vistas. Joshua Tree Coffee Co. coffee is provided, along with sugars and creamers, to start your morning right. There's also an outdoor dining space for meals al fresco. Whether you’re cooking or simply sipping, this kitchen embodies balance - sleek modern lines softened with natural textures and is stocked with everything you need to cook delicious meals.



-Bedrooms & Bathrooms-

The primary bedroom, perched on the open second floor, features a king bed and an ensuite bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a 70-year-old clawfoot tub, perfect for long, contemplative soaks. Downstairs, the second bedroom is tucked behind the boat bar, with a queen bed that feels private yet still part of the hut’s airy design. The downstairs bathroom features an expansive shower and alien wallpaper - a playful nod to Joshua Tree’s extraterrestrial lore.

Step outside and let the Mojave’s quiet grandeur surround you. The outdoor spaces are designed for connection and relaxation: soak in the private hot tub, gather around the propane fire pit, or enjoy meals together at the outdoor dining table with a propane BBQ ready for grilling. A vintage 32’ 1971 Airstream named Dry Bones rests on the property: locked, but available for photography and storytelling. From the back patio, you’ll take in endless desert views, framed by scattered Joshua trees and uninterrupted mountain vistas. At night, the sky transforms into a canopy of stars so vivid, you may never want to leave.

Though designed to be a world of its own, Shores of Saturn is only 20 minutes from Joshua Tree’s West Entrance and the eclectic town itself. Locals and visitors alike swear by the burger at The Copper Room, yucca fries at Tiny Pony, sound baths at the Integratron, and the iconic Red Dog Saloon and Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown. Guest Access:

Guests have full access to the main house, including the boat and tiki, and the 15 acres of land surrounding it. Please note that there are a few closets in the carport and in the entryway that are being used for storage for supplies for the rental that are locked to guests.



Please also note that due to county regulations of trailers on short term rental properties, the Airstream on the property is locked to guests and available for exterior photos only.

Shores of Saturn is situated in North Joshua Tree in the Hidden River neighborhood, just 12 minutes from the shops and restaurants of downtown Joshua Tree. All homes in this area are on acreage, giving guests wide open space and privacy.

Getting Around:

A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.



Shores of Saturn is in a remote location, and the last 0.6 mile is a dirt road, so please take it slow. The dirt road is maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt roads may have ruts, particularly after rainstorms.
