Casa Refugio Hermosa is one of the two units of a duplex house in Hermosa Palms, a gated beachfront community in Playa Hermosa. Your unit is entirely yours, on two levels — and it's worth knowing how they connect before you book.

The staircase is outside and has no roof, so bring an umbrella on rainy days and keep an eye on small children. The upstairs door locks automatically: keep the key with you.

Air conditioning, ceiling fans and Wi-Fi. The rooftop has a barbecue grill and is a great spot for sunbathing or stargazing. Beach essentials are provided.

The home sits inside the "Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Playa Hermosa," a rare community surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Check-in is from 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Check-in is self-service with a lockbox.

Hermosa Palms is a gated community with security at the entrance. Please have IDs or passports ready for the guards when you arrive.

The house is a duplex: the other unit is a separate rental. Yours has two levels connected by an outdoor staircase without a roof, and the upstairs door locks automatically. Parking at the house is for two cars.

Beach Club access is included and works with the affiliate card that comes with the house. A lost card costs $50 to replace. The club sets its own hours for the pool, bar and restaurant, so check them when you arrive to plan your meals.

The beach is beautiful and great for surfing, but the waves and currents can be strong. Swim with care, especially with children.

There is ongoing construction in the community, and you may hear it during the day.

● Access to the Beach Club is included in your reservation, you will have access with the affiliate card. In case of losing the card, it will have a cost of $50 per replacement.

● The pool is intended for visitors to the condominium, please respect the rules of the pool and follow them to avoid calls for attention from the condominium staff. Remember that they are for your safety and that of other guests.

● Due to condominium policies, it is NOT allowed to receive visitors from guests.

● It is prohibited to hang clothes, towels, and sheets that are visible from the pool area. This may incur a fine.

● Keep the volume of music or noise moderate after 10:00 pm.

● You should not smoke inside the house or the property since this is a smoke-free space. If you do, cleaning fees and other possible penalties will apply.

● Don't rearrange our furniture.

● Parties and events are not allowed by Airbnb and the owner.

● We love pets and we love hosting them, but we also love our home and like to keep it in excellent condition for our guests, so bringing pets is at our discretion.

● Pets are not allowed to sleep on the beds or the sofa.

● All guests must be identified and it's not allowed to exceed the maximum capacity of 6 people in the house.

● Only pre-registered people are allowed to enter before check-in, visits are not allowed during the stay.

● It is only possible to register the number of people specified in the reservation.

● Drug use: If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, they will be reported to the authorities and asked to please leave the property at that time.

● Lastly, because this is an Airbnb community, not a hotel, and it is also a private family home, please respect the property and keep it clean before you leave
