We had a nice stay at the National Hotel in Jackson. My husband grew up in the area, and we both have always wanted to stay there.
The front desk staff was courteous and friendly. Check in was quick and easy.
The room was very underwhelming, but clean. We had reserved a king size bed room with a fireplace. The room was very small, with a queen bed and a wall mounted ‘fireplace’ that looked to be either electric or gas. We could not figure out how to work it, so it was just a wall decoration at that point. Definitely NOT worth the extra money we paid for.
The hotel restaurant, The Duke, was just ok for both dinner and breakfast. Service for dinner was slightly better than breakfast. We could’ve gotten better food and service at the many places on Main Street.
All in all, it was a decent stay. Thought it would have been better, though, between it being a historic hotel and a now a Hilton Tapestry collection.
