Welcome to Shanti Del Mar

Shanti Del Mar is your own little slice of paradise. We are located in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, a tiny tropical island 8 miles off the coast of Cancun. Our ocean view villa is on the eastern coast of the island and overlooks the mesmerizing turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Located only minutes away from Playa Norte (which has been voted one of the 9 most beautiful beaches in the world), Shanti Del Mar is the perfect destination for a family vacation, an excursion with friends, or a quick romantic getaway. This 2,000 square foot, four bedroom, three bathroom beach home offers enough space to comfortably accommodate up to 9 guests.

If only two words were used to describe Shanti Del Mar, they would be, Private & Comfortable. Our house is an island onto itself. Our entire property is raised one meter (three feet), walled off, and surrounded by natural island flora on three sides. Hop across the street, and you are on your own semi private beach. Take our beach chairs and a cooler of your favorite libations, and dip your toes in the warm waters of the Caribbean. Or walk the surf collecting sea glass which has washed up on the shores from who-knows-where.

To start your day, turn on the cappuccino or coffee machines. Then a quick dip in your secluded pool, followed by a shower in the outdoor warm water shower. Breakfast? Whip something up in our complete kitchen. Smell the bacon as the kids ask, "Dad, why are the eggs yokes orange instead of light yellow?" And speaking of orange, there's nothing like mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice, squeezed every morning by the local merchants right down the street. Now it's time to begin your day diving into a good book and working on your tan, as the kids (of any age) float, swim, or play in our oversized pool. 

Shanti Del Mar's two master bedroom suites are on the 2nd floor. Each has a king size bed and it's their own private bathroom. They both have sliding glass doors which lead out onto a spacious upper terrace that offer an incredible ocean view, comfortable seating, table, chairs and hammocks. Downstairs, there is another bedroom with a queen size bed, and an upper bunk. The new living room couch is very comfortable and converts into a queen size sleeper. There is a workspace with a desk, comfortable chair and a printer and paper, if someone has to be connected with the "real world." We have mesh Wifi/internet that extends through the entire house including the back yard.

The kitchen is fully equipped with granite countertops, coffee maker, Nescafe pod machine, microwave, blender, toaster, and of course, stove, oven, and refrigerator with bottled drinking water and ice maker. The dining area is large enough to comfortably seat eleven people. The living room has a flat-screen satellite TV and surround system.

The rooftop terrace is the perfect spot to watch the sunrise over the Caribbean sea in the morning, work on your perfect tan in seclusion during the day, watch the sunset over the Cancun bay in the evening, and star gaze at night.  

The house has all the amenities you'd want. Every room has it's own separate air-conditioner. All bed linen is cotton and 600+ thread count. The towels are plush luxury cotton. The couches and chairs are comfortable, and wireless internet extends outdoors to the pool area. We are equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, motion detectors, and out door security cameras.

Our dream villa is located in the part of the island called the airport strip, sometimes call Gringo Row. Because of it's close proximity to downtown, and you are, literally, across the street from semi-private, walkable beaches, in most people's opinion, this most desirous neighborhood on the entire island.

So treat yourself to the ultimate vacation getaway at Shanti Del Mar. Enjoy a morning cup of java, or mimosa watching the waves from the second floor bedroom terrace. Then, shopping and fish tacos in El Centro. Or, sunbath on the white sand beaches of Playa Norte. Or, more R&R, with a good book and the sound of your kids laughing the day away in our private, oversized and kid friendly pool. Oh! Did I mention, there's over 200 restaurants on this tiny little island? Regardless of how you choose to spend your morning, afternoon and evening, you will dream in comfortable beds as the cool sea breeze caresses your skin.
