Guests keep saying the same three things: the hot tub under the stars, how quiet it gets up here, and the moose that wander past the deck. Natalie's quick replies come up almost as often.
THE SPACE A single-level log cabin, 1,006 sq ft, built for two and roomy enough for six. Wood-paneled walls and tall windows onto aspen and evergreen. - Kitchen: espresso maker, drip, French press, Aeropress, Instant Pot, dishwasher. Table for 6 plus 4 island stools. - Primary suite: new soft king mattress, towel warmer, two robes, door straight onto the deck. - Bunk room: queen on the bottom bunk, twin on top, full trundle that pulls out. - Roku TVs in the living room and both bedrooms. - Washer and dryer. Pack n play, high chair, baby gate and a basket of kids' toys.
SLEEPING - Primary bedroom: 1 king bed, door onto the deck - Bunk room: 1 queen bed (bottom bunk), 1 twin bed (top bunk), 1 full trundle that pulls out - Pack n play for infants. Sleeps 6. One bathroom, shower and tub combo.

Clear nights get properly dark.
GETTING AROUND You are in St. Mary's, a small neighborhood up Fall River Road about 25 minutes above downtown Idaho Springs. - 5 min: St. Mary's Glacier trailhead (under a mile each way, paid lot) - 25 min: Idaho Springs for Safeway and Natural Grocers, Beau Jo's pizza, Tommyknocker brewpub and Indian Hot Springs - 25 min: Clear Creek whitewater rafting, Class II to V (May to August) - 25 min: Argo Mill and Tunnel gold mine tour - 35 min: Georgetown and the Georgetown Loop Railroad (seasonal) - 45 min: Loveland Ski Area, the closest big mountain - 55 min: Mount Blue Sky Scenic Byway, North America's highest paved road (summit open late May to Labor Day, reservation needed) - 1 hr 10 min: Winter Park, and about the same to Denver - 1 hr 30 min: Denver International Airport
SEASONS - Memorial Day to Labor Day: the glacier trail, Clear Creek rafting, the Mount Blue Sky summit road open, cool mornings on the deck - Late September into October: aspen gold outside the windows and along the drive up Fall River Road - December: a ski day at Loveland, then the hot tub with snow coming down - February and March: the real snow months. Moose tracks in the driveway and the quietest the neighborhood gets.
GOOD TO KNOW - 10,000 ft elevation. Some guests get mild headaches or fatigue the first day. Drink extra water and take it easy. - The last 400 yards are dirt and gravel with 4 switchbacks. AWD or 4WD strongly recommended October through April; a regular car is fine May through September. - The county plows Silver Creek Road quickly, a snow service clears the driveway, and there are shovels and de-icing salt at both doors. - Cell service fades as you climb. Download directions before you leave Idaho Springs. The WiFi is solid once you are inside. - Not secluded. The cabin sits a few feet from the road, you will see a neighbor from the deck, and some locals drive the road fast. Keep kids and dogs close out front. - One bathroom for up to 6 guests. Stagger morning showers. - The yard and deck are not fenced or gated. Dogs: 2 max, up to 75 lbs each. - No fires. Fire pits, propane grills and open flames are banned at short-term rentals in this area. The deck grill is electric, and so is the fireplace. - Bears are active. Keep food and trash inside, never in your car or on the deck. - No air conditioning. Ceiling fans and portable fans, and nights stay cool at this elevation. - A stony path with a few steps leads to the front door, so it is not wheelchair accessible. The deck steps off the primary bedroom get slick when icy. - Exterior cameras: a video doorbell and a driveway camera. None face the hot tub or the inside. - Gravel driveway with room for 2 cars. No street parking. - St. Mary's Glacier's snowfield melted out in summer 2026, a first on record. The lake and trail are still there. - Self check-in with a smart lock. Your code arrives once the rental agreement is signed.
HOUSE RULES - No parties or events - No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, inside or out - No open flames, candles or fireworks - Registered guests and registered dogs only - Quiet hours 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM - Please do not rearrange the furniture - Breaking the party or smoking rules means a $1,500 fine and immediate removal

Perfect for a cozy getaway in the mountains. Was fun for 2 and could easily accommodate a family getaway. Host was proactive in making sure everything went smoothly, but all was set up how we needed it from the start so their support never ended up being needed.
Comfortable, well outfitted, especially the kitchen. We were able to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner! Hot tub was wonderful on snowy evenings. One of the best vacation homes I’ve stayed in.
The host puts a lot of thought and effort into making your stay relaxing and entertaining. Communication was clear and quick to respond. The lodge was super clean and functional. Beds are comfortable!

A fun place to stay that can sleep up to 5 people. Ideal for the summer, a bit difficult to get around in the winter. The only thing that cost it 1 star is that the beds are very hard to sleep on and there are no mattress tops to help :(

What a great place! Every detail of the cabin was amazing! Cozy, comfortable, clean. You get to live the real retreat in the woods, surrounded by trees, mountains and lots of snow, which is perfect for being in the hot tub. The host were always attentive and we have great communication. I'll be back to this cabin without any doubt.
We just stayed at this property for a long weekend and it did not disappoint. The house was very clean and had everything we needed, including children’s toys and dishes. It had a nice little deck with comfy chairs and the amazing hot-tub, which we all enjoyed. The beds were very comfortable. Natalie and her team were amazing to work with. She was so responsive and willing to help with any issues. We were also welcomed by our moose every morning. I would highly recommend for a nice mountain getaway.
This place was a nice getaway the hot tub was hot and clean. The atmosphere was wonderful. Everything was very clean! I Definitely recommend this place
Natalie was easy to deal with on the VRBO App and responded promptly when ever I messaged her. The cabin was very nice, and we got away for the weekend from our everyday routine. The cabin is about a mile from the trailhead of Saint Mary's glacier. Saw a moose at the next door neighbors all three day. All in all very good trip.
