Absolutely filled with natural light, classic furnishings, and a stunning wraparound screened porch, this home is more than ready to assist in making the best memories. Watch the boats go by as you relax in the rocking chair on the front porch to start each day on a peaceful note. The main floor will be the hub for entertaining with plush furnishings, a cozy gas fireplace, and eclectic touches of a quaint cottage that will make everyone feel at home. Head into the full kitchen and you will find a gas range, dishwasher, and all of the utensils need to whip up tasty meals for the whole gang. A dining nook awaits adjacent to the kitchen, yet more formal meals can also be enjoyed at the dining table! Plus, the lower floor is home to the laundry room, so don't worry about dirty clothes on this trip.

Sitting right on the shore of the Kalamazoo River, you will have no problem getting out on the water to fish, swim, boat, and more! If you want to spend warm summer days on the sand with a good book in hand, Oval Beach is less than a mile away offering stunning views of Lake Michigan. When it is time to grab a bite to eat, stock up on groceries, or check out the charming shops in town, the main drag of Saugatuck is two miles away. Plus, you will be within walking distance of Mt. Baldhead Park!

This cabin was so family-friendly. My grandkids were not on this trip but I hope to bring them here some day. Well-stocked kitchen. Fenced area for our little dog run. Comfortable beds and great locale for getting around town. Live music came across the water pretty audibly over the weekend; still a party in Saugatuck after Labor Day!

Can’t say enough good about this absolutely charming property. The location, the architecture, the way it’s decorated all felt like a perfect escape for our family of 4. Our 5 and 7 year old kids loved exploring in and out too. It would probably be tight for multiple families but was ideal for us. Cheers to the property owners for th family photos and artwork - makes it feel like a real genuine cottage loved for generations.

This place was charming and in a great location. It's right next to the chain ferry which is nice, but it wasn't working while we were there. It was decently clean but a bit musty. The shower in the basement leaked and we had to pull out a wad of hair in the shower drain on the main floor. Over all a good experience, but it is an older cabin so you take the good and the bad that comes with that.

Cute rustic cottage. Would have really improved our stay if windows had curtains or blinds for privacy and to keep the morning sun out. Would also have been nice if the king or a queen bed had been on the main floor since that was the only bedroom with an actual door and some sort of privacy. Cottage was very clean except sticky kitchen floor. Would have been nice to know the trail head to oval beach was just to the south of the property, not well marked.

The property is definitely an old cottage, but a good location. There is no installation, not updated, no window shades (very bright in the morning and evening). I knew it wouldn't be modern, I'd recommend staying for no more than a couple of days. The price is very high for the actual cottage and the downstairs smells very mouldy /damp.The porch the best part to watch the boats go by ln the river. Surprisingly there's no recommendations on the area or restaurant or beach recommendations. It was nice, but it is expensive for what it is.

Cute old house needs better management

This house does not have air conditioning or heat. The listing is not accurate. We learned this on our way and the management company’s solution was a box fan. Nearly impossible to temperature control. Our family of 4 ended up sleeping in 1 room with two twin beds. Not ideal or comfortable. If you have allergies, forget it. The glass in the windows appears original, but it has holes and breaks in them. Which means insects. We even found bugs in the bed! The second bathroom is in the basement in the laundry room. Nothing else is in the basement. The house also smells awful because the floor is rotting out and mold/mildew ridden from leaks in the bathroom. The three “bedrooms” upstairs are open tops and have no doors. The stair rail is unsafe for children as it is very short and the spindles are 2 feet apart. So not ideal for children unless older or an infant that cannot roll yet. The positives are the screened in porch where you can watch the boats. We spent almost all the time on the porch to avoid the heat and stench inside the house. The history of the house and family are somewhat on display which makes it very interesting. I can see so many memories for them happened in the house. I hope they find a better management company before this one destroys the home with their apathy for its history.

Cute riverside cottage

We had a great stay at Anna's cottage. The place was larger than we expected. The highlight was definitely evenings and meals spent on the porch! We enjoyed boat watching on the river and the fans and screens made the porch very pleasant even during the heatwave. Important note: despite the listing info, the house itself is not air conditioned. It got very warm in the house, so we did not spend much time indoors. The house is equipped with lots and lots of windows, ceiling fans, and other fans. However, we would highly recommend bringing extra fans. Another heads up, the walk to oval beach is closer to 15 mins including a pretty steep uphill and on a well-used road (no sidewalks). Totally doable, but definitely plan on driving if you want to bring a lot of stuff or have any mobility problems. Overall would highly recommend!

Lovely home

We just loved our time at Anna’s Cottage. It was spacious, warm and welcoming. The windows (and views!) are gorgeous and we loved the photo of the same porch we sat on from the early 1900s. Located across the street from the Chain Ferry and within walking distance to Mt. Baldhead and Oval Beach, the location is perfect. Highly recommend!

Story book cottage

We had a family wedding and it was perfect for having a few of my family members for dinner. It’s comfortable and cozy, yet plenty of room to never feel crowded. Well stocked towels and kitchen utensils. We enjoyed the screened porch. Beach is a short distance away. Definitely going to rent again.

Lovely vacation spot

We always enjoy Saugatuck in the Fall and this trip was exceptional. Our home away from home choice truly added to the experience. Because of being elderly, we did find all the stairs daunting. And the toilet in the main bathroom definitely needs to be higher. However I would still give this cottage a 5 star review. It was charming and we absolutely loved the screened porch overlooking the river.

Saugatuck Cottage

Beautiful original antique vacation cottage, well preserved and maintained. Everything was as advertised, clean and prepped. The location was amazing, immediately across the river from downtown Saugatuck, right at the chain ferry dock. Plus the forest trail to Oval Beach starts right outside the door. We couldn't have been happier with the property.

Terrific Cottage

The property sits on the Kalamazoo River with an elevated screen porch perfect for watching the boat traffic. The cottage is a short ride to Oval Beach. It is a very traditional three season cottage that is clean and beautifully decorated. Short drive to Saugatuck or quick Chain Ferry ride (if it is open).
