  • Experience convenient and comfortable living staying at our Seashell Ohana ONE! Our newly built 2 bedroom 2 bath duplex home. Located centrally in Hilo. You will be just 3 miles from Hilo airport, Liliuokalani Park and Garden, Carlsmith Beach Park, and many other popular attractions and restaurants. This spacious house sleeps up to 6. Enjoy the proximity to Volcanoes National Park, Rainbow Falls, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and much more!

    Start your vacation at this centrally located home, surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants, parks, and beaches! If you are visiting Hilo for business, this space is ideal as well, with plenty of table space for working and high-speed internet through Spectrum (200mbps). No cooking in this unit. We provide coffee machine, microwave, juicer, refrigerator, mug, plates and silverwares in this kitchenette. 2 walk-in showers. In addition to the 3 full beds available in this home, there are one futon sofas (in the bedroom) and one sofa in the living room to accommodate extra guests; please note there are no extra beds. Let us know if you would like to request air mattress.

    Please Note: As this is a multi-unit property, guests may occasionally hear normal household noise from the upstairs unit, including footsteps and general activity. Our property is surrounded by Hawaiʻi’s natural environment. Guests may hear coqui frogs, birds, and other local wildlife, especially during the evening and nighttime hours. These sounds are a natural part of island living!

    Private parking is on-site at the entrance of the apartment. Please let us know if you will need space for more than 2 vehicles. Laundry room is located in the garage. Quiet hours between 9pm and 7am.

    Average weather in Hilo is 84F/64F. Most the Hilo residents do not install air conditioning in the house.

Very roomy and stylish for the three people in our group. Two bathrooms was an added plus. Beds were comfortable. Communication with the owner was prompt:)

The property lists a kitchen but there is not. The is a refrigerator, plates/cups/etc and some plug in appliances, but washing dishes in a tiny bathroom sink was not ideal. There was laundry accessible and the house was very safe and comfortable during a hurricane. Just beware that if you are looking for a kitchen, there isn’t really. Otherwise the property was perfect for our stay.

What we needed for our vacation. A space to cook like a hot plate would have been ideal. A bit more clearly stated in the description. Host answered questions in a timely manner. Bedrooms were hot so extra fans were needed.

The place was quite clean, fresh-smelling! The unit held an air of relaxation that was perfect for our weekend getaway. We actually canceled some of our excursions to relax in the rooms. This was our first trip to Hilo and we were surprised at how close we stayed to many of our destinations. Being right off a main road made it super easy to find our way around!

Very clean and well taken care of VRBO. We booked this last minute as our other VRBO cancelled on us due to an emergency a few days before our stay. Easy check in and check out and host was easy to communicate with. In a great part of town for visiting attractions around Hilo. We were in close proximity to Rainbow Falls, tour groups for Mauna Kea and the botanical garden (which was amazing). Plenty of food/stores nearby as well. Beach is a short drive and fun to watch surfers at! It is on the bottom floor of a building though and the upstairs group was a little loud but that’s not the hosts fault. But if you’re looking for a completely quiet place be aware that there are people upstairs above the VRBO. Overall a wonderful stay and we were very happy!

L’appartement, propre et spacieux serait parfait si il y avait un évier de cuisine et une table. Laver quelques assiettes ou tasses est un peu compliqué dans le petit évier de salle de bain.Les lits sont confortables, il est bien situé., et par ailleurs bien équipé.

Main room patio door latch didn’t work. Noisy (maybe it was the rain).Felt new. Good beds and shower. I’m glad we stayed here, away from downtown. near a very good grocery store.Would not feel comfortable if stayed downtown due to all the transients.

Noise issue

The property and host was excellent. The problem was this listing it was not clear we were the lower level of a duplex and we had a party of 10 people staying above us and it was very loud. Heard every step they made. Only complaint. Every thing else was great.

Nice clean newer rental

We spent 2 nights at Hilo in this cute rental. It had a fridge microwave and coffee maker but cannot cook a meal in this unit as does not have a kitchen. We were aware of this and we were not planning to cook.This unit is modern and clean and quiet. The town of Hilo seems to have a lot of rundown areas and homelessness. That said we loved the Farmers market and waterfalls. The weather was sunny and beautiful. This rental was nice and the neighborhood felt safe.

Unfortunately, our stay was seriously affected by a persistent noise issue. There was a constant metallic banging sound coming from above the entrance-side room, almost every second, and the high ceiling made it even louder. Even with earplugs, it was very difficult to sleep. The noise continued and seemed to get worse during the stay. It also affected another room, as my colleague was woken up by the same noise and had to use earplugs as well. This confirmed that it was not just personal sensitivity, but a real issue affecting proper rest. We reported the problem, but felt it was not taken seriously. The response was that “people sleep differently,” and moving rooms was treated as our personal request rather than a response to a serious problem. Because of this, I had to stay somewhere else after the second day.The room layout was also very strange. The main entrance opens directly into one of the rooms instead of a normal living room or entry area. It felt like the room had been converted from an entrance compartment, which made it less comfortable and private.Considering the unresolved noise, unusual layout, and the need to find another place to sleep, this property was not worth the money for us.
