Backwoods Bungalow in Highlands, NC is tucked underneath a lush canopy topped by century old white pines. It has been transformed into a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom private mountain retreat. This bungalow has two master suites, each with a King size bed and ensuite. Upstairs is also a Full size sleeping loftbed.
Backwoods Bungalow, nestled in at over 4100 feet in elevation, is a short 3 minute drive to downtown Highlands and in the midst of hiking trails, multiple golf courses, scenic drives, waterfalls, fine dining, shopping and spectacular views of Nantahala National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains.
The extensive renovations include a completely rebuilt stone fireplace for those chilly mountain nights, new screened porch, flat screen TVs, new appliances, fresh no VOC paint for the interior, new paint on the exterior, quartz kitchen countertops, solid oak flooring throughout, completely renovated bedrooms, bathrooms and a new roof.
This professionally designed retreat has an open great room with reclaimed tin on the vaulted ceilings, wood beams and stone fireplace. The great room features custom lighting, a flat screen television with DVD player and many natural details to make you feel at home. Additionally, it offers dining for six and a spacious living room, which opens onto the screened porch. The well-appointed kitchen and stainless steel gas grill provide the perfect combination for a night of entertaining or a nice meal with the family. For those who prefer some quiet time or like to make the most of a rainy day, you can relax with a good book in the sleeping loft, play board games or browse the wireless internet from any location you choose. This cabin boasts two master suites, each with its own king-sized bed, smart TV and private bathroom. Each room features Egyptian cotton sheets, warm quilts and down comforters.

[All of the homes managed by Highlands Vacation Rentals have wifi internet access(speeds may vary based on different providers),, basic kitchenware & dishes, linens provided, and a starter set of amenities including: 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom + A set of personal shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap (also per bathroom), 2 paper towel rolls, a few kitchen trash bags, a kitchen sponge, some dish soap and a couple of dishwasher and laundry detergent pods. ]

CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy (effective for bookings confirmed after April 1, 2024) is outlined below:
For reservations that are 21 days or less, A reservation cancelled ( by email receipt ) between 0 - 45 days prior to arrival is not eligible for a refund. If reservation is cancelled more than 45 days prior to arrival, guest shall receive a refund of all payments made* less a cancellation fee of 10% of the total cost of the reservation AND the cost of any trip insurance if purchased.
*Refunds do not include third-party service fees as those are determined by the booking site and we do not control how those funds are processed.
For any reservations that are more than 21 days, No refund will be given unless the property is re-rented over the previously booked dates.
