Less than 30 minutes from the lake you have; the Catskill Distilling Company, Kartrite Indoor Water Park, Horseback riding at Rolling Stone Ranch, the Resort World Catskill Casino, and the Monticello Raceway & Casino. Within 10 minutes you have river rafting through Kittatinny Canoes and Indian Head Canoes. Just 20 minutes to Port Jervis with access to Metro North trains and fine dining. 25 minutes to Milford, PA, Monticello, NY, Port Jervis, NY, and Pecks supermarket is just a 2 minute drive down the road. Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets and Mountain Creek Ski Resort & Water Park are just over an hour. Camelback Ski Resort is just an 80 minute drive, and Windham, Hunter or Bellare are all less than 2 hours away. Big Bear Ski Resort is less than 30 minutes.
20 minutes away is Bethel Woods, the home to the original Woodstock. It's has great concerts, events, and the Woodstock Museum. Across the street is the Catskills Distillery, and White lake isn't far where you can find great restaurants on the water.
25 minutes away is Narrowsburg, a very charming historic town perched high on the cliffs overlooking the Delaware River. It has adorable antique and trendy shops, art galleries, and delicious alfresco dining along the banks of the river. The Heron and Gerard's are both great. Nearby you can find Skinner’s Falls, where you can swim, canoe, go inner tubing, or just sun on the rocks.
When renting the Waterfront & Garden Cottages, guests will enjoy exclusive access to a range of amenities. Pickle ball and half court basketball at each house, along with private swim spa and separate hot tub, screened in veranda, and multiple fire pits are available throughout the property. Additionally, they will have access to a private, sun-filled, and temperature-controlled Recreation Center located about 100 feet from the waterfront cottage. The center features mat flooring, perfect for yoga or invigorating workouts. Inside, guests will find various entertainment options, including ping pong, foosball, shuffleboard, a mini pool table, pop-a-shot, a TV area with a couch, free weights, yoga mats, and an extra fridge. The house also offers board games such as chess and monopoly for indoor amusement.
These charming homes are nestled on 23 acres of land, which includes a shared beach and dock equipped with floating picnic tables, providing direct access to the lake. For aquatic adventures, guests can make use of a row boat for fishing, a one-person kayak, a two-person kayak, two kids' kayaks, two canoes, and two paddle boards, all of which are included with the rental. Additionally, the property boasts various lawn games, including volleyball/badminton, frisbee golf, a golf range net, soccer nets, bocce ball, spike ball, and more.
Nature enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the stunning lakefront environment and explore the vast surroundings. They can traverse the shared bridge and meander through the boulder gardens, taking in breathtaking views of the grassy fields inhabited by deer and the serene waters. A shared creek runs through the heart of the property, providing opportunities for tubing, hiking to peaceful spots for meditation, or simply enjoying the calming sounds of the flowing water.
*** It's important to note that the beach, creek, and hiking trails are exclusively shared by guests staying at the Highland Lake Estate. While there is one other property on the Estate that may potentially share the 22 acres during one's stay, most of the time, guests will have these amenities all to themselves. If anyone desires more privacy or requires additional clarifications, they can contact management for further details.

- Must be 25 or older to book - All guest must sign waiver and provide photo ID prior to arrival - NO parties - NO shoes in the house - NO smoking anywhere inside - NO fireworks - NO firearms or hunting - Sound travels really easy over the lake so please keep the noise down after 10pm until 8am. - We will try our best to accommodate all early check ins or late check outs. There is an additional hourly charge of $50 - Booking the Waterfront + Garden Cottages includes 10 guests, all additional guests are charged $55/guest per night (infants 0-1yrs, will not be charged as a guest). - There is an additional $100 fee per dog - We provide a bundle of firewood. Additional firewood is $15/ bundle.
Waterfront Cottage (3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms)
The spacious open-plan living/dining room and open kitchen allow everyone to spend time together comfortably. The adjacent screened-in veranda provides a second oversized living space perfect for reading, working or enjoying lake views alongside the fire table. On the patio, you'll find even more gathering space with plenty of Adirondack chairs encircling the wood-burning fire pit. The kitchen is fully stocked with a gas range, large refrigerator, dishwasher and washer-dryer. You'll have access to everything from pots, pans and utensils to oils, spices, coffee and tea. There are also two fresh drinking waterspouts and an electric kettle for instant coffee, tea or cocoa. Sleeping areas include a king-size primary bedroom, a queen-size bedroom, a bunk room with two twins and a full bed, plus a pull-out sofa in the living room. Two well-appointed bathrooms are conveniently accessible from any bedroom. The queen bedroom and bunk room each offer workspaces, and the cabin is furnished with the fastest Wi-Fi available. All the rooms have Roku or Amazon Fire TVs for easy access to your Netflix, Prime, Apple TV, HBOMax and Hulu accounts.
Garden Cottage (3 bedrooms / 1.5 bathrooms)
This is about a 5 minute walk around the corner or through the woods from the Waterfront Cottage, and less than a minute drive away.
Generously proportioned living and dining rooms and eat-in open kitchen allow everyone to spend time together comfortably. The furnished front porch provides a second oversized living space perfect for reading, working, al fresco dining or lounging. You’ll also find a rocking chair on the front porch overlooking the fenced in yard where the kids can play yard games safely and the dogs can roam free.
The very private and peaceful backyard is hiding the Pièce de résistance. Enjoy the latest addition at the Garden Cottage, the 19' Swim Spa / Pool / Hot tub. This 5ft deep, dual temperature, swimming experience, open ALL year round, offers unparalleled versatility with its two distinct bodies of water. On the hot tub side, you can unwind in the warm, soothing waters designed for ultimate relaxation and hydrotherapy, perfect for melting away the stresses of the day. On the other, the cooler pool area provides a refreshing environment for exercise, whether you’re swimming laps, engaging in water aerobics, or simply enjoying some family fun. This luxurious addition offers a new hub for relaxation, health, and joyful memories with friends and family.

The louvered pergola with string lights offers a versatile outdoor experience day or night, combining the benefits of a traditional open-roof pergola with those of a closed-roof gazebo. With four rows of individually controlled louvered roofs, you can enjoy up to 240 square feet of shade, and protection from the rain, while still being able to bask in the sun or gaze at the stars. There are also removable privacy curtains and nets to keep mosquitoes away and provide privacy.
The expansive kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, large refrigerator, and abundant wood cabinetry stocked with all the kitchen appliances and amenities you may need. You'll have access to everything from pots, pans and utensils to oils, spices, coffee and tea. A large peninsula and center island provide wonderful space for meal prep, casual dining and conversation in the space where everyone tends to gather. The dining table offers seating for 6, with an additional leaf to fit two more, and with windows on both sides, light fills the room throughout the day.
Sleeping areas include a primary queen bedroom with a large closet and desk for a quiet work space at the end of the hall. There are two more queen bedrooms that are connected by a Jack-and-Jill half-bathroom. In the hallway, the well-appointed full bathroom offers a large tub/shower, a roomy vanity and plenty of storage space to tuck away everyone's toiletries. You will also find a full sized washer and dryer for cleaning your towels and clothes.
The sun filled living room is cozy and bright with plenty of seating for all, as well as an additional sleep area when using the pullout couch. There is an electric fireplace, tons of greenery, and games to entertain all ages. The cottage is furnished with the fastest Wi-Fi available.
