The Space:
Forest Hill Farm is located near the small town of North Otago, New Zealand. It's just a 20 minute drive from the coastal town of Oamaru. Nearby Katiki Point, Moeraki Tavern, and Moeraki Boulders are just a few of the attractions in the area. It's one of the best tiny house rentals where you can enjoy a comfortable 139 square-feet accommodation with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities.

The bathroom, however, follows ecologically sustainable principles, including a cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers) for you to use. It focuses on satisfying people's needs with natural resources and processes to save the environment.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be train tracks and passing car noise, which is less than 30 metres away from the SH1, which is New Zealand's busiest road. Noise-cancellation earplugs are recommended for guests.

Guests will have access to the property and the surrounding areas, except the land host's private residence.

- Kātiki Point is the southern point of Moeraki Peninsula. This short walk has commanding coastal views, you'll see the historic lighthouse, Te Raka a Hineatea Pā site, and possibly yellow-eyed penguins and NZ fur seals.
- Inu Nutrition Bar is a place that offers delicious low-calorie smoothies in the region.
- Moeraki Tavern is a highly recommended tavern that offers a wide selection of food and drinks.
- Oamaru Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden where you may stroll about and admire the beautiful garden.

Getting Around:
By car:

- 5 mins drive south to Hampden beach
- 10 mins drive to Moeraki beach
- 15 mins drive to Moeraki township
- 20 mins drive north to Oamaru

By public transport: No public transport avaiable. It's advisable to hire-a-van or rent a car.

Other Things to Note:
- Mobile reception is good
- Pets are not allowed on the property
- No smoking allowed on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Don't forget to close windows, and lock doors when leaving the tiny house
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially, chargers)
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge

Safety guidelines

- Please be advised that we have cows and ponies on our property
- Please do not enter animal paddocks without the land host's permission
- Guests are advised to follow the safety precautions discussed with the land host
- If you're interested in petting our mammal friends, please contact your land host to make arrangements
- Keep in mind that intermittent sounds such as the clanging of metal, shouting, and whistling can agitate our ponies
- For the safety of our guests, we advise guests to refrain from making loud noises that can be particularly stressful for the animals

Important note:

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire
- Please note that you will hear the main road and train track noise during your stay, which is less than 30 metres away from the SH1; the busiest road in NZ. Noise-cancellation earplugs are recommended for guests
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
