'Ox Yoke Lake Oasis' offers an array of terrific amenities, including sleeping arrangements for 10, 2 paddle boards and 2 kayaks, a private dock, and 100 feet of lake shore. Whether you're boating and 4-wheeling in the summer or ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter, you'll love returning to this cozy home-away-from-home after your outdoor adventures!

From the custom made cabinetry to the warm and welcoming nature-themed decor, this rustic getaway offers all the comforts of home! The spacious living room is the ideal place to relax, as it features beautiful lake views, a cozy sectional sofa, a flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi.

Spend your downtime enjoying the many private amenities that the property provides. Outside you'll find 100 feet of lake shore frontage with a private dock. After a day of fun, relax by the fire pit and grilling area.

Create a culinary masterpiece in the fully equipped kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances and gleaming quartz countertops. There's ample seating in the dining area and two additional seats at the island.

Take solace in the cozy first floor bedroom while others sleep soundly in the additional two bedrooms on the upper level. Larger groups of family and friends can find more accommodations in the loft and in the living room!

Additional Details:
Ox Yoke Lake (DOW# 11-0355; Lake Class 31) is a 187-acre lake located near Backus, MN. There is a DNR owned public access on the south shore. Ox Yoke Lake has 2.87 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 42 feet. The lake is primarily managed for Largemouth Bass and Black Crappie and secondarily for Northern Pike, Bluegill, and Yellow Perch. The DNR has classified Minnesota's lakes into 43 different classes based on physical, chemical and other characteristics. Ox Yoke Lake is in Lake Class 31; lakes in this class are generally clear and productive with moderate depth.

Motors and jet skis are allowed on this lake.

We absolutely loved our stay at this lake house! The lake is crystal clear and so peaceful — we practically had it all to ourselves. Listening to the loons calling in the evening was pure magic. The hill from the house down to the water is a bit of a workout, but our dog loved it and it helped tire him out each day. This is the perfect place to reset, relax, and soak up the quiet beauty of nature. The hosts were fantastic — very responsive and quick to resolve a small issue within minutes. We can’t wait to come back!

We had an awesome stay! Enjoyed boating and swimming across the amazingly clear water. Had great luck fishing as well! The kitchen was well- stocked so cooking was really easy. Beds were comfy — esp for the kids all hanging in the bunks. And it was great to watch lightening thru the huge windows ! Thanks to the owners for being super responsive when needed.

Great getaway

The cabin is beautiful and so is the lake! I am definitely rebooking. I have taken my family on vacations looking for just the right one. It's found with this cabin! If you're looking for a beautiful cabin that has everything a group of 9 needs and wants, this is it! If it's the lake that you're looking for, this is also it! The lake is crystal clear. A beautiful beach shore front. The lake is not huge but deep and was able to fulfill tubing the kids with my spped boat!

Another great week at the lake! Beautiful setting and very quiet! We loved hanging out on the beach and dock as well as enjoying campfires each night. Cabin is perfect for our family of 9, 6 adults and 3 little ones. The Domino’s are very easy to work with and provide great communication.

Great vacation home!

We had an amazing time! This is our second time staying here, it’s a beautiful home and clean! Lot is private and quiet. We had our family of 9, kids and adults and we all had a great time on the water, enjoying the sunsets and campfires in the evening. Owners are great to work with. Definitely will be back!

Perfect setting for relaxation and fun!

The cabin was so nice, just as expected. The lake was clear, and the dock and the sandy beach were great. We paddle boarded many times in the clean, clear lake and had so much fun! Most of the time, we were the only ones on the lake. What a great place and location to have fun and relax!

Total Relaxation

We were looking for a beautiful place for a girls weekend. We needed to get away and relax, and this place did not dissappoint. Listened to the Loons, watched other wildlife. It was lovely, and quite remote. A steep walk to the lake, but worth it to just sit on the dock. Bottom bunks in the bedroom with two bunk beds are for kids only. In fact, one appeared to be a box spring only. Everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking. The grill had some issues but we made it work and used it twice. Tons of DVD movies to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay.

Ox Lake Vacation

We had an amazing time! The house was very clean, and equipped with all our needs. The property owners had an amazing manual to answer our questions and had the fire wood stocked up for cozy fires. The lake access was nice along with the dock. They also had comfy hammocks to rest in. There were multiple towns close to go in and explore too.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property. The attentiveness of the property owner was unbelievable. She was so helpful and kind. The pictures don’t really do justice to how cute this cabin is and the sunsets were breathtaking. Definitely recommend this property!

The perfect getaway!

This is our second time staying at this property, and we love it so much! My husband and I and our 3 kids (5, 3, and 8 months) have so much fun playing on the beach, boating (we bring our own and tie it up on the property’s dock), fishing, and taking little trips into Walker and Hackensack. The kitchen is well equipped. The owners are so responsive, and even though they’re on a septic system, you have access to laundry which is so helpful with swim suits and messy kid clothes. We’re always so sad to leave which is a sign of the good times had 🙂

Wonderful Stay

This was a perfect end-of-summer getaway for our family. The house was even more beautiful in person and the location offered a lot of peace and privacy. Our 3 year old loved playing on the sandy beach, watching the loons and looking for fish. We also enjoyed venturing to Walker and Hackensack and riding bikes in the Chippewa National Forest. The house was very clean, well-stocked and met all of our needs. This vacation home checked all the boxes for our family and we hope to visit again!

You will not be disappointed

Stop looking. This is the place. We love the cabin. We love the lake access and the location to all the places in central mn (nisswa, Brainerd, walker, Hackensack, longville, etc). Rooms are a little tight but we managed. Kitchen is fully stocked. Cabin is updated and clean. Dock faces the sunset in the evening and fishing is great off the dock. If available, we will definitely be back!

Nice lake place/fishing

Beautiful place! We enjoyed our stay. Just beware if thinking about handicap accessible. The lower level has a tub and the walk in shower is up a flight of stairs. Our family enjoyed the fishing and out door games.

Great vacation lake home!!!

Beautiful lake home! Very quiet and relaxing location. Property just as listed. We had a great time on the beautiful lake, very clear water! Loved hanging out on the little beach and dock. Great lake for swimming, skiing/tubing and fishing. Very quiet lake. Home was perfect for our kids and their families, it had everything we needed and very clean. Neighbors were there but barely noticed them, though they were very helpful when we needed help with our dog’s medical issue. Also the dog tie out line was great to have. Thanks for a wonderful relaxing vacation. Definitely plan to be back next year!!

Wonderful Family Getaway

We picked this cabin for our annual family trip to "the lake" based on the photos and previous reviews that mentioned very clear water and a clean, tidy interior. Ox Yoke Lake Oasis definitely lived up to our expectations! The interior of the cabin is light, spacious and well-crafted with quality furnishings and appliances. This was also the cleanest cabin we have stayed in over the last several years. It really does feel like a home away from home. The lake is very clear with numerous little sunnies hanging out right under the dock watching the kids swim. We thoroughly enjoyed paddling the kayaks and paddle-boards, watching the sunsets each night, and listening to the loon family that made the rounds of the lake each day. As others have mentioned, the hill from the house down to the lake is fairly steep, but my 80 year-old mother-in-law was able to make it up and down if she had an arm to lean on. The hosts were very responsive with communication throughout the trip and kept us updated on some yard work that was scheduled. We had a wonderful relaxing week on Ox Yoke Lake and are grateful to Christine and Eric for sharing their beautiful home with us.

Peaceful home away from home!

Beautiful lake home that felt like a home away from home! Very well-maintained with lots of charming decor. We enjoyed relaxing by the sandy beach, going paddle boarding, and napping in the hammocks. The living space is gorgeous with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake and woods. Kitchen came furnished with everything we needed, and the owners supplied lots of games and movies for evening/rainy day activities. We saw tons of loons on the lake and bald eagles flying overhead (So cool!). The lake itself was very peaceful with plenty of sunnies to catch! Our dogs loved running up and down the hill to/from the lake and watching the wildlife out the front windows each day. Would definitely stay here again! :)

Peaceful getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The cabin is modern and very comfortable, great kitchen and comfortable living area. WiFi and cell service worked great, if needed. It’s on a small, quiet lake, very private. It seemed like we were the only ones there, except for the immediate neighbors. Saw a lot of wildlife - deer, rabbits, beavers, loons, might have even heard a moose call in the distance. It felt very magical and honestly we have no complaints. The only word of caution is the hill down to the lake is very steep (the owner did already disclose this in the listing). Definitely got our exercise going up and down. My able bodied 60-something mom did fine, but older or less abled adults may have trouble.
