On Golden Pond #5, aka OGP5! 5BR Lagoonfront private home. A wonderful stand-alone house located directly on the waterfront of Little Lagoon with easy access to the community dock, beach, and pool. Carefree days for up to 21, and a great deal too!

In addition to the awesome lagoon front features, like the dock and small beach, access to the Gulf is via the 12th street public access which is a short direct walk up 12th (right next to our Seafoam home!).

LOCATION!
Lagoon front. This home has fabulous views over the lagoon. So nice. So tranquil. And those sunsets! Wow! Situated in a small neighborhood of mostly owner occupied homes, this great home shares a very cool lagoon front pool with the neighborhood and shares a lagoon fishing dock too!

POOL?
You bet. Guests of OGP5 have access to the community pool, right on the lagoon! Bonus, there is a small lagoon side beach right by the pool, along with a fishing dock! The pool is 24x14' big, and 3-5' deep!

BEACH ACCESS
OGP 5 has access to the small lagoon side beach by the community pool, and it is only a short walk of less than 1/4 mile to the beach the 13th street public beach (next to my Seafoam home!). These is a pedestrian cross walk to help you get across West Beach to that public beach too! PLUS there is a back trail from near our home to access all the fun and fishing at Calloway Bridge too!

PARKING
There is available onsite parking for 4-5 vehicles.

WIFI/INTERNET
YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally rock solid and ran > 250Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!

SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC
As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well.

PETS
We do consider well-behaved canine furry friends. This requires owner pre-approval, and is subject to a pet fee (currently $250 per pet). Please inquire. Subject to restrictions which often vary by season. Again, please inquire.

No smoking please, but feel free to eat lots of shrimp, bask in the warm sun, and have a great time!

Need something a little smaller (or to add another place nearby?). We also have On Golden Pond 3, a 2x3BR duplex one home over. A great value too!

We had a wonderful stay at Rick & Susan’s! We had plenty of room too! We didn’t have any issues while we were there and Tick & Susan are wonderful to work with! We would recommend their properties to anyone and will be looking to stay again after Christmas hopefully!

Basketball Trip

Perfect vacation !!

We had a great time at On Golden Pond ! Beautiful property, with great views of the Sunset from multiple decks . Our group loved being on the Bay because several of our crew like to fish . There is a walkway just steps from the house where you can fish all you want . The walk to the beach was not an issue, my wife and I are 65 and it was not a big deal for us to walk. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and had more than enough room for our group. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen for cooking and our grandkids absolutely loved the Bunkbed room. I would definitely book this house again !!! The owner was a pleasure to work with !!

Perfect and peaceful home away from home

We traveled to Gulf Shores for a softball tournament/vacation. We had multiple families and the max guests and this house was perfect! The location is amazing! The lagoon is beautiful and peaceful and very refreshing to for the soul! Our guys fished and fished and fished some more! The beach is a very short walk and you are there in minutes! This place is away from all of the hustle and bustle so it’s nice and quiet but a very close drive to all the stuff! The kids loved the pool! The kitchen is stocked with all the dishes you need. The owners even came by with a bag of amazing chocolates! The management company was super easy to deal with! A few things could be fixed/adjusted in the house but it is a home that is lived in by so many families so that doesn’t take away from me giving this 5 stars!! If I ever go back to Gulf Shores with a large group again, I would definitely stay in this home!!!

Amazing vacation

Wonderful Stay

A beautiful home with plenty of space. Close to many activities, but plenty of privacy. Wonderful view and just a short walk to the beach. Step out of the back door and fish from the semi-private dock or swim in the pool. We will definitely go here again for our beach vacations.

On the bay

The property location was great for our family. Could definitely use some updates. When we turned on the ceiling fan in upstairs master dust dropped all over the bed could have been cleaner over all. Kitchen definitely needed a few more pots and pans. Could definitely use new stove/oven, other appliances were updated and very nice.

Gorgeous home with a fantastic location!

This home is absolutely perfect for a large family, interested in kayaking, fishing or just enjoying the sunset over the lagoon. Just a short 5-10 mins walk to the ocean. Pool was clean and although a shared pool we found it never to be busy. The house lay out was perfect. Tons of setting on the main level. The house was clean and the bedrooms were comfortable. Thank you for a fantastic trip.

Great spot for families

We had a great stay here! We had two families with young kids. We considered many properties and agreed that this was definitely the best option-access to the pool, lagoon, a great house with lots of space, and walking distance to the beach. It took about 15 minutes to walk from the house to a spot on the beach with young kids. We had a great time and already booked a return trip. Thanks!

Thanksgiving in Gulf Shores

Had the Best time!

Management company was excellant at communication through the entire process. Vavation home was peefect for our large family. Ample space and privacy for all of us. Peefect location for the beach, attractions and crab dock for our family that loves to crab and fish. Home could use some updates but we still loved our time here.

Beach Getaway

This is our second time at this property. Would highly recommend. The house has comfortable beds, plenty of seating, large island for preparing meals. Great location! Beautiful lagoon views from all windows from the back of the house. Fishing pier, pool, short walk to the beach. I will be back next year!

Perfect location

This property is amazing!! My husband and I took all 9 of our kids and grandkids and they had so much fun. The location is perfect. You are right on the lagoon. There is a beautiful dock and pool. The kids loved fishing and crabbing. The beach is a very short walk away. The view from the house is gorgeous! There are several balconies. The house was clean and had everything we needed to prepare our meals. There is a grill. The owners are so nice and very responsive. I would highly recommend this property. We hope to go back soon!!

Beautiful house on the lagoon

This is a fantastic place to stay in Gulf Shores if you have several people. Our family with adult children and grandson stayed here for several days. It worked out perfectly. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms. The view of the lagoon is lovely. The beach is only about 4 blocks. It is an easy walk, and there is a crosswalk to cross the busy street. It is also very close to a walking path that we also enjoyed. Our group liked to sit out on the deck and watch the birds and boats. The kitchen is well stocked. We hope to stay here again in the future.

Beach Getaway

The pictures online do not compare to how beautiful the location of this house is. Beautiful views of the lagoon. We were a group of ten adults. Plenty of seating. Very spacious bedrooms. Comfortable beds. Short walk to beach, pool, fishing pier. Plenty of seating outdoors. We were very happy with this house.
