The hotel is in a beautiful area, surrounded by redwoods, with a quiet path to Guerneville. The staff is amazing, they know your name and try their best to help you during your stay.

Family staycation in the rain was lovely
We loved our stay at the Stavrand. Very cozy, nice amenities, wonderful breakfast. It was pouring rain so we were stuck inside with our 2.5 year old but with a lovely sitting area, fireplaces, boardgames, and smore kits we had a lot of fun. Look forward to staying again.

Pricey and weirdly inflexible
Can't say that the hotel is worth the cost. We had only one night away, and there was a power outage for the entire morning. While obviously not the hotel's fault, their handling was odd. For $900 a night, I would expect better hospitality than what we experienced. It was also EXCEPTIONALLY loud with a leaf blower blaring the entire morning. The opposite of relaxing.

We appreciate your understanding and for bearing with us while the power was out - we do our best to ensure that such hiccups don't prevent our guests from enjoying themselves. We endeavored to handle it as smoothly as possible, ensuring that the generators were up and running, so our complimentary hot breakfast and Wi-Fi didn't skip a beat. However, we realize there is always room for improvement. The forest can be a magical, yet sometimes unpredictable adventure.We hope you enjoyed your breakfast and the extended late checkout with access to our premier king cedar tub room as our attempt to make up for the morning disruption to our service (we wanted to ensure that you had the opportunity to enjoy that relaxing cedar tub soak before your journey home!).Thank you again for staying with us, and our sincere apologies that your stay didn't meet your expectations. It's expensive but unique location, wonderful staff, and very nice. Only one complaint, There were no plugs near the desk to plug in my laptop.

What a gem! If you’re looking for a serene stay with impeccable service, look no further. Spacious, comfortable room. Delicious (and, included!) breakfast. Friendly staff (with the owner, Emily, on site during the week… AND pouring complimentary wine every evening from 5-6). We’ll be back!

The Stravrand is beautiful and very well located. Unfortunately, the walls are incredibly thin and I could hear my neighbors speaking through the walls. Not muffled voices, but clearly understanding the words they spoke to one another, as if through curtains. For this reason, I can't imagine ever returning.

I just want to live here. Emily and her partner have our done themselves with the redesign of this property. Words can not do the experience justice. So all I will say is book as many days as possible before it’s nearly impossible to get a room. Also bravo to the kitchen for amazing meals. ♥️

Relaxing stay, amazing staff
The staff is so warm and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate my toddler. The property is beautiful and relaxing. There is space to explore and wander. Check out the garden area and hang out at night by the fire pits.

We loved the s'mores in the evening, the farmhouse and blue moroccan look of the place, and just how quiet and peaceful it was. Above all, Santiago, Kayla, and Chantal were fantastic hosts and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The cedar hot tub was amazing - thank you!

Wonderful Stay!
Beautiful place! The staff was extremely personable, friendly and helpful. Got an upgraded room, which was impeccably clean, modern, yet cozy. So many lovely touches that made this a great stay, like the complimentary hot apple cider, staff knowing you by name, and watercolor map of the property. Delicious breakfast, and also highly recommend the dinner tasting menu! Will definitely be returning! Centrally located within the Russian River area.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting!!
The Stavrand was absolutely amazing! We were there for the start of our honeymoon and the staff had a complimentary bottle of champagne and the most beautiful gourmet chocolates waiting for us in our room! The staff was so attentive and polite. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful. The hotel was clean and every detail taken care of. Was an absolute pleasure to stay in and will definitely return!!

An absolute gem!
What a wonderful gem! We had an absolutely fabulous time and would stay there again in a heartbeat. The hospitality was fantastic and the food and ambiance in the restaurant was incredible. We will be back for sure.
