Das Bodmi is a beautiful hotel, with excellent views both from the dining terrace and from each room's balcony. The hotel is very clean, the breakfast is ample and satisfying and the staff are very friendly. The only thing you need to know before booking is- as with most places in Switzerland, there is no AC. You will have to sleep with windows open which can create a need to interact with other guests who may ask you to quiet down or whom you may ask to quiet down. This happened to us, but was not a big deal. More important to know, this hotel is not "in town", it is a 10 minute or so walk down into town and a serious climb back out. There is a bus, but it stops at 7 so you cannot have a late night in Grindelvald unless you are in good shape to walk back up the hill. - It worked for us because we were looking for quiet...if you are hoping to hop between hotel and town several times a day, it might now work so well. We would stay there again for sure!

The view from the terrace is incredible. The bus stop is less than 1 minute away. The room was overall clean and spacious. I didn't like that microwave wasn't available especially when the restaurant at the property closes on Monday and Tuesday.

We had a great 2 day stay at Hotel Bodmi. The location is just too good in the mountains. We didn't have a car and found the bus very convenient. The downhill and uphill walks to and from Grindelwald are steep, but doable in 15 mins. The staff was extremely nice, genuine and helpful. They went out of their way to help their guests. We dined at their restaurant a couple of times and the food was delicious and the service even better. Overall - we had a GREAT experience

Meine Freundin und ich waren ein verlängertes Wochenende in Grindelwald im Hotel Bodmi. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und bemüht sich den Gästen einen unbeschwerlichen und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Besonders das Frühstück und die Privatsauna bleiben unvergesslich! Danke dafür!

I'LL BE BACK.
STAY HERE FOR SUPERB VIEW OF EIGER. Breakfast was almost same everyday but loved it. I have mild allergy to dairy product and it never came up with all the cheese and butter. I think these products here are fresh that I didnt get any allergies. The owner Elisabeth and Kurt were nice and the other employees were too. Just three things. When you stay for days they don't clean the bed just arrange it. Liquid soap in the bathroom is a bit slippery and strong. One employee named Mira? not sure. It would have been better if she had nicer attitude.

perfect stay
Our experience at this hotel was pretty good. The guy who received us at the reception was very nice and explained how to get around in the city. He then later showed us to the room. Our room had a balcony, that was shared with three other rooms and provided one of the best views of the city. The room was pretty spacious. The service we received at the hotel was very heart warming. Everyone wanted to help. The host was very welcoming and made sure we didn’t have any issues during our stay. First night we tried the barbe cue grill on the outdoor terrace at the hotel, it was 35 Fr per person and was very tasty. Hotel has Free parking which came in very handy.

The hotel was wonderful and the coolest are the hotel owners Mr. Kurt and Mrs. Elizabeth and the staff are friendly with the guests and help them to spend a nice trip in Grindelwald

Nice
Family owned hotel with spectacular views over the peaks above Grindelwald. The hotel is 1km above the Main Street (walk or bus) and allows the great views. Hotel is spacious. The restaurant menu is good with a lot of fresh choices. The service is excellent.

The hotel bedrooms were spacious clean with really fantastic views !!! Lovely to have a balcony too. Kurt and Elizabeth were so helpful and relaxed and when I stayed for dinner s couple of times, the food was class.

The owners Elizabeth and Kurt as well as the staff most friendly and caring. Room was clean and warm with amazing view out of the balcony. The food was great breakfast and Dinners. Overall setup is comfortable and cosy.

Wonderfully Peaceful hotel in beautiful setting
Everything was very good for our three night stay here. The owners were very friendly and helpful with local information about the area. The meals we had were excellent including our breakfasts and evening meal. There was also a lovely terrace making the most of the stunning mountain and meadow views here. Our room was fabulous , a corner family suite for my husband and I and our teenage son. Everything was immaculate and full of local character with lovely pale wood for the furniture. Would definately recommend this hotel and we would love to return. Was an easy 15 minute walk down to the town and the handy train station. So picturesque everywhere, with spring flowers in the meadows, sunshine everyday and the breathtaking mountains as a backdrop. Perfect!!

Sehr gemütliche und familiäre Anlage gleich neben der Skischule. Direkter Pistenzugang zur Firstbahn. Sehr freundliches Personal und ruhige, entspannende Umgebung. Gratis Parkmöglichkeit. Skitickets können direkt im Hotel gekauft werden. Einziges Manko: Bei warmem Wetter (Schneemangel) ist die Pistenzufahrt zum Hotel nicht geöffnet, so dass man per Bus mit Umsteigen zum Hotel zurück fahren muss.

Excellent Hotel Friendly Owners and Staff
Made to fell very welcome, location was great, room was excellent clean and large. Breakfast was excellent as were the evening meals. The owners and staff could not have been more helpful. Tea and Coffee facilities in the rooms would have been an added attraction.

Nice hotel and food but the flies were out of hand
The black flies in Grindlewald are heavy his summer all over, but with the goat barn at the hotel the room fills with dozens of flies if you open a window, though that is the only source of ventilation. It was not comfortable this hot summer. Otherwise the staff and hotel were nice.

Super Hotel, wir haben uns hier sehr wohlgefühlt.
Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in sehr schönem Hotel, das sauber und professionell ist, dabei doch auch urig und familiär. Die Gastgeber sind ständig um das Wohlergehen der Gäste bemüht und überaus hilfreich und freundlich. Gerne kommen wir wieder in dieses Hotel, das etwas fernab vom typischen Grindelwald-Trubel liegt und einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Alpen bietet.

Bodmi stay not what we anticipated
Owners are fantastic, unfortunately the hotel needs to be remodeled. They offer breakfast buffet however the cook does not start his shift until 9AM so you cannot ask for any hot/ cooked item. The hotel is pretty far away from town and although there is a free bus to and from town, the last bus is before 7PM and the cab ride is 23 Swiss Francs. Rooms don't have a mini fridge or even an ice bucket so keeping food or drinks in the room is not an alternative. Owners and staff in general are extremely pleasant but Grenwald offers better options. I had asked to please remove all down/ feathers pillows/ comforters due to allergies and I had to fo it myself upon arrival. The rest of the hotels we visited while in SwItzerland (Zurich, Cully) accommodated the request.

Thank you for your stay at the hotel Bodmi. For your review, we thank you. However, we regret that we were unable to make your stay 100% satisfaction. Because of your allergy, we assume that this is a misunderstanding. In Hotel Bodmi, we have only 100% allergenic friendly pillows and duvet. We have only synthetic pillow and duvet for the relatively frequent allergy problems. Furthermore, our pillows and mattresses are also protected by encasing suits against mites. These suits are an additional Allergy protection. We regret that we had during your stay not the opportunity to describe our efforts to make the stays for allergic people comfortable. you cannot ask for more! thanks to Bodmi, you made my vacation like a nice dream. quiet and large hotel room, directly facing the Eiger Mountain. wonderful breakfast, lunch and dinner. easy access to the cable car and a nice walk way (20 minutes) to the railway station. they provided free shuttle bus to pick you up. and at the hotel gate, is the bus station and you can receive a free tour ticket from the hotel!

最高の景色です
ジュニアスウィートに3連泊しました。駅からはちょっと離れますが、バス停(Bodmi)が目の前で不便ではありません。中腹斜面にあるため、このホテルからの眺望は素晴らしく、ベッターホルンやアイガーなどの山々がきれいに見えます。 そしてオーナーご夫妻を始めスタッフの皆さんはとてもフレンドリーです。周辺の情報を交えた様々な話題で盛り上げてくれました。夕刻の多忙な時間であったにも拘らず、駅までオーナーが迎えに来てくれたり、チェックアウト後にも笑顔で駅まで送って頂くなど、本当に暖かいもてなしでした。是非再訪したいと思います。
