Subject: Request for Full Refund – Holiday Inn Express & Suites Donegal Stay
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to formally request a full refund for my recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Donegal by IHG, which I booked through Expedia under Itinerary No. 72070292366152 for January 29–31, 2026.
From the night of the second day of our stay, there was no hot water available in our suite, and this problem continued through the morning of our checkout date. My wife endured a cold shower on the second night, but on the morning of departure my children and I, who had returned late from skiing, were unable to shower at all because only cold water was available. This was not a minor inconvenience; it meant that we could not wash properly before traveling and had to spend the entire day in an uncomfortable and unhygienic condition.
When I called the front desk that morning to report the issue, the staff member simply said “OK, bye” and ended the call without any explanation, apology, or effort to provide assistance or alternatives. There was no information about the cause of the problem, no estimated time for resolution, and no proposal for compensation or another solution. This response did not meet the standard of basic guest service I reasonably expect from a hotel operated under the IHG brand.
I fully understand that technical problems, such as frozen pipes or boiler failures, can occur in cold regions. However, a hotel in an area known for skiing and low temperature
