Superbe hôtel de 70 suites seulement, toutes récentes et superbes. Accueil personnalisé exceptionnel. Excellente animation musicale jazz le soir. Seuls le bar manque vraiment de chaleur et de tapas apéro, le dîner est vraiment trop cher pour un buffet, et un employé de piscine a vraiment été inconvenant.

Beautiful hotel located midway between Heraklion and Chania. Loved the beach and restaurant. Our room was amazing with our own pool and fireplace in our private outdoor area. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Loved Rethymno's old town which was a short cab drive away. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing stay with very good facilities for the families. The staff in the kids club was fabulous and kept the kids wanting to go back. Also loved the kids buffet in the afternoon Aside from family facilities the restaurant served very good food, the pool and beach was great as well The service on the beach could do with a little improvement in terms of people serving

Expensive but good and quite
The hotel is new and has all the facilities you need for a hotel. It is quite and with a lot of space. The food could be better according to the price level of the food.

I loved everything about this hotel; from the ”welcome!” to the ”hope to see you soon again!” Very friendly staff, excellent housekeeping and absolutely stunning rooms and gardens. Located right on the beach, and has a really nice poolarea. It is familyfriendly but even still a nice, quiet luxurious hotell. I was upgraded to a room with a terrace with a jacuzzi (that I never got around to use, sadly) and I could never ask for a lovelier room! The gym is one area that could improve; it is on the smaller scale and it lacked music and atmosphere. This vacay will stay with me for a long time. Yes- it is pricey but worth every penny.

As it was early April, the hotel was reasonably quiet. The whole area of the hotel and pool was very relaxing and super clean. Staff service in EVERY area of the hotel was first class: Front of house, Housekeeping, Dining, Pool and Bar areas, the young man who delivered drinks to the room and those who helped with luggage. It is obvious that careful attention is given to the recruitment and training of staff as, without exception, every member of staff was friendly and most attentive to whatever request we had.

Grosszügig gestaltetes Resort mit tollem Service
Das Caramel Boutique Resort Hotel verfügt nicht über allzu viele Zimmer, dennoch ist die Anlage grosszügig gebaut. die Zimmer sind geräumig und modern, aber eher spartanisch eingerichtet. Etwas mehr Ablagefläche und Stauraum wäre praktisch. Die Zimmer sind insgesamt sauber und gepflegt. Besonders erwähnenswert ist der durchgängig freundliche Service. Alle Mitarbeitende sind sehr aufmerksam und man fühlt sich zu jederzeit willkommen und gut aufgehoben. Sowohl das Frühstücksbuffet wie auch das Buffet zum Nachtessen sind sehr gepflegt und umfangreich. Die Speisen sind qualitativ hochwertig und sehr ansprechend präsentiert. Beim Abendessen dürfte es etwas mehr Abwechslung haben, die Speisenauswahl ist nach einigen wenigen Tagen mehr oder weniger immer wieder die gleiche. Die Liegen am Strand sind insgesamt eher knapp bemessen. An einzelnen Tagen kam es vor, dass bereits kurz nach 10 Uhr alle Liegen besetzt sind. Obschon das Hotel beim Einchecken explizit darauf hinweist, dass das Reservieren der Liegen nicht gestattet ist, wird dies leider auch hier nicht konsequent umgesetzt. Schade, dass man nicht den Mut hat, die immer gleichen mühsamen Gäste zurecht zu weisen. Am Strand sind Badschuhe unbedingt empfohlen bzw. nötig für den Einstieg ins Meer. Es hat zahlreiche grosse und scharfkantige Felsplatten im Meer. Und bei starkem Nordwind ist das Baden im Meer verboten. Diesen Vorgaben muss unbedingt Folge geleistet werden, die Strömung ist dann wirklich heimtückisch.

Amazing hotel, a few minor tweaks from perfect
Beautiful hotel, amazing food, and staff very friendly. The local area isn’t quite as lovely and so the hotel could perhaps benefit from hosting a little more entertainment/activities. Would also be nice if boards could be purchased rather than just bed and breakfast.

Staff are excellent, very warm welcoming and helpful. Those on reception, by beach, at restaurants, entertainers and the cleaners were great, exceptional service. Rooms are nice, very comfortable clean and beautifully designed (but shower screens could be longer). Breakfast is tasty and varied. Mountain tea and Cretan food were lovely. Beach is ok, but very rocky. Beach by rethymnon town is better. Can see snow capped mountains from beach. Hotel is nice for families. Hotel was full of lots of well-heeled families with children. Area around hotel is quiet. Mythos restaurant near hotel is nice, great dakos and nice decor, full of flowers. Bus to town stops right outside hotel. Some wonderful restaurants in the old town with great food and service and gorgeous decor. Rethymnon itself is well worth a visit; full of character, it’s charming, arty, friendly and relaxed. Nice boutiques and shops too.

beautiful salt water pool, easy access to beautiful beach. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very nice, though no bathtub and despite thick curtains light still got in the room in the mornings to wake us up. Good food though very overpriced. Restaurants that are walking distance are ok, did not find anything really good.

Una esperienza unica. Conoscevo di fama il gruppo Grecotel, devo dire che il Caramel ti fa vivere una esperienza sublime, sotto ogni punto di vista. Struttura molto tranquilla, personale di altissimo livello, servizi eccezionali, dal ristorante, alla piscina alla spiaggia. Suite bellissime, un vero paradiso.

Das Personal im Caramel Grecotel macht den großen Unterschied zwischen diesem schönen Hotel und vergleichbaren Anlagen. Vom Check-in über die Zimmermädchen bis zum Personal in Restaurants und am Strand, alle sind bemüht es perfekt zu machen und den perfekten Urlaub zu arrangieren. Die Anlage selbst ist makellos und angenehm klein mit knapp 100 Zimmern. Dadurch auch bei Ferienbelegung und mit vielen Familien sehr entspannt und ruhig. Zimmer am Strand sind der große Glückstreffer weil sie neben dem Blick auch noch einen privaten Garten mit Strandzugang haben.

Excellent BoutiqueHotel
We booked this hotel 8 days before travel, visiting for 14 nights in mid May 2018. It was the only hotel in the area that was 5 star with a 5 star review rating, and it certainly lived up to expectations. We cannot thank the staff enough for their attention to detail. We had a lovely room with large enclosed patio, complete with loungers, brolly and chairs, sea view and room was fully serviced twice a day. The restaurant was excellent, although we only ate their 4 times in the evening, breakfast was fantastic something for everyone. It was a 1 mile walk to the start of the main commercial area, with dozens of shops and restaurants, all food very good and reasonable. Rethymnon itself worth a visit and again excellent restaurants and shopping 5 miles away. One final thing, the hotel wifi is full strength and fast throughout the entire resort including beach and pool. We will definitely return, one of our most relaxing holidays in a long time.

Luxurious break, great staff
Well deserved break for hardworking parents/grandparents. We always enjoy time alone but this was the best yet although the dearest! Oh well, you certainly get what you pay for here with close attention to detail and the personal touch. Good security too. Always loved the Greek people, naturally kind and gentle folk. Not too big so you feel really valued and looked after. Would have liked a sea view and bigger balcony but no availability. We will most likely return but haven't seen enough of the world yet!

Very nice small hotel
it was a good vacation. Hotel is very nice. Service is amazing. Rooms are small, bur very nice. Local area is bad. It's good option for 3-5 days. No more, because it's difficult to find where to go.

Brilliant holiday at Caramel - thank you!
Our stay at the Caramel was excellent and I recommend booking to anyone unsure. I've see criticism of the hotel's location, but anything you'd need is available within a couple of minute's walk. Caramel isn't in the main town of Rethymnon, and to get there you need to get a bus which takes around 10 minutes or enjoy the pleasant 90 minute walk. Rethymnon is where all the night life is with a great range of restaurants, bars, dock side eateries and everything you'd associate with that. Whilst Caramel is a distance from Rethymnon, it has small markets and a decent choice of restaurants and bars directly outside the door. I don't think location's a problem, unless you're very keen to be in the middle of all the action. The customer service at Caramel exceeded all of our expectations. Upon check in we were greeted with snacks, a local refreshment drink in a cocktail glass and cool towels. The staff make sure that you're treated to a very high standard at all times. Examples of this are too numerous to mention, but some highlights included, staff setting up new table outside for us at breakfast when the area was full, the daily provision of a different flavour of liquor in our room each night, fresh fruit and water provision at the beach and pool side... All in all, it's a brilliant place to stay. We loved it. Thank you!

Fabulous hotel in terms of quality, service and cleanliness. Not the prettiest location but if you don't mind being in the hotel grounds or if you don't mind having a car for a few days to explore then it's great. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, you really are treated well. Beautiful room and pool area. High quality hotel but as such prices for drinks etc are in line with standard of hotel...A bit pricey but supermarket opposite selling same cans of pop etc at less than a third of the price and nobody minds you bringing these back to the hotel. Manager is visible every day and makes every effort to remember people and make sure stay is perfect. Oggy the restaurant manager is great fun and so pleasant.

Crew is very nice and very polite, rooms, hotel and restaurants very clean, pool and seaside very beautiful. Only thing which the Hotelmanager (very nice person) could upgrade is the restaurants cook: Caramel Hotel wants to be perfect, they reach up to high standards. Missing is a good chef who can create good food. Food was sometimes not perfect: meat not medium rear even when ordered, to less salt or sweet desert/icecream with no taste: here the hotel could make it better. All together: very nice Hotel, to be recommended.
