I will preface this review by saying that this location is currently being renovated.
First impressions when we pulled into the parking lot were ‘okay’. The new sign and lobby entrance weren’t the greatest first impression, but again, it is being renovated. We loved the location to everything we had planned for the weekend. As a FYI, it is walking distance to the Alerus Canter. The location and hotel felt safe and the parking lot is well lit. The rooms were good; they were clean, felt comfortable and were fairly modern. The staff were friendly.
My “complaints” would be that the hot tub was under maintenance (super disappointing), the breakfast was very average (I’d suggest adding some toast and/or bagels, some hot options, a variety of fruit and some consideration for people with allergies) and the shower head was not very good.
We would probably try staying here again once the reno is complete to give it another try, but for the price we paid, I’d be less inclined to do that when other hotels in the area were the same price and weren’t under construction.
