The upper and lower levels have a wall of glass sliders providing stunning lake views and access to the covered upper and lower furnished decks including an electric grill for use in all seasons. This property includes ample parking with additional parking adjacent to the chalet, well-lit sidewalks and stairways which may be turned off to enjoy the evening under the stars. The outdoor space is just as amazing as the chalet, located in a lush wooded valley with deer, geese, ducks, occasional eagles, breath-taking sunrises and lake views which you may enjoy from one of the two covered decks. Perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails.
Outdoor activities abound with use of private boat dock (located on owner’s property just steps away next door) on a quiet No Wake Cove near ski area. The private dock has electric, covered area and available open slip to bring your own boat (at no additional charge) swimming, fishing, use of paddle board, canoe, kayaks and lily pad float. (** Bring your own personal flotation devices, these are not provided**) Enjoy the outdoor fire-pit with seating or the unique screened Silo Gazebo with fire-pit (also on owner’s property) with complimentary hot dog roasting sticks and pudgy pie makers. Seasoned hardwood firewood bundles with paper, kindling,firestarter, and lighter, kit is available on site for $10.
If you prefer to venture during your stay at the Eagles Nest Chalet, you will find a host of availability including a convenience store and a quaint shop with sandwiches, ice cream, candy and convenience items just a few minutes drive. Local restaurants, three marinas, fuel, bait, local bars, liquor store and pizza are also nearby. Don’t forget to plan an outing to one of the areas many local award winning wineries or take the wine trail to 11 vinyards for wine, micro-brews, local entertainment, food, unique shopping, and gifts. The chalet is within 12 miles of 4 of the wineries.
For outdoors enthusiasts, the chalet is in proximity to several state parks that have, hiking, biking, seasonal waterfalls, cliffs for climbers, beautiful natural areas and awe-inspiring views like Herin Pond, Little Black Slough (35 min) with boardwalk views of cypress and Tupelo Bayou, or Bald Knob Cross (52min). State parks include: Ferne Cliff SP (10 min) Giant City SP (30 min) Little Grand Canyon SP (46 min) Garden of The Gods SP (60 min) If your interest is biking rather than hiking, the biking enthusiasts will appreciate Tunnel Hill biking trail that offers miles of trail through natures beauty (24 min).
