Little Moon
We had another great stay at Little Moon! Kris and Matt are always willing to help with anything you may need. The area is beautiful and the cabin is so cozy. Great for a weekend getaway!

Wonderful hosts, excellent stay with our 2 dogs
Matt and Kris were promptly responsive and accessible for anything we needed. Cupcakes and a birthday card were thoughtfully left in the cabin for my husband’s birthday, along with a basket of snacks and s’mores supplies. The property is well maintained and had just received a fresh porch staining when we arrived. The grill was easy to use and the shower was TO DIE FOR. It is directly on the lake, but be mindful that the walk back up the hill can be taxing depending on your ability. The peninsula was excellent for having a great time on the lake and letting our lab swim. We’ve never stayed someone more than once, but we’re strongly considering staying here again.

Both my husband and myself enjoyed ourselves . The cabin was very clean and definitely cozy . The hosts were very nice people and glad we got the opportunity to meet them and chat a little bit . I loved all the deer we saw on a daily basis , granted our doggies didn’t know what to think ! The lake is gorgeous and it’s so peaceful and quiet out there. We would definitely stay again .

Romantic Getaway
This property was so great to stay at. My significant other and I were very impressed, we used the fire pit, canoe, outdoor shower, and all amenities provided inside the cabin. The bugs were bad the first day but that was after it had rained, the next day we stayed out until 10 or 11am doing s’mores and there were barely any bugs at the campfire and the cabin porch. The owners also provide firewood and fire starter. The coffee maker/microwave oven stopped working for us but the owners said they will replace it! Also the outdoor shower ran out of gas for hot water at the end of our shower. The owners even offered to have someone stop by to drop off anything else we needed. The owners also provided marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and roasting sticks to put the marshmallows on. Not including the other snacks and goodies! It’s a small place, so I personally would only make it a romantic getaway!

One of the cleanest rentals that I have ever experienced. The hosts were informative and eager to help us with anything on our stay. They even helped us to jump one of our cars that was dead. It was relaxing, safe and quiet. We had many things to do on our rental with the toys they provided. I cannot wait to return with my husband!

Exactly as described. Such a nice view of the lake and hubby could just go down to the dock and fish. Outdoor shower was fun and the water was really warm. Close to state parks for hiking. Got an idea for a sliding barn door for my house from there. A lovely stay

Just what we needed
Only on the area for a couple days and it was a perfect glamping experience. It was nice to have all the lake toys available, even though we were just about relaxing this time. Beautiful to see the fall colors on the lake rather than be in a noisy hotel.

Amazing place!
This was an AMAZING weekend trip with my husband and our dog. We searched for a tiny cabin on a lake and found this place and booked it. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Our dog loved it as well! Super cute place, clean, and perfect location. We will 100% be back again. We also rented a pontoon for the day and the company dropped it right off at our dock. 10/10 reccomend!

Wonderful for relaxing!
My husband and I just wanted a couple of days away to relax and this was perfect for us! Cute and cozy with a fantastic view and peaceful atmosphere. They provided a clean and comfortable space to stay, water activities we could use on the lake, firepit, and even some snacks. More than we even expected for how reasonably priced it was. Thanks for a great time!

Great little place!
My husband and I have come back for a second time, this time with the dogs. We are soon staying at Nature's Way Getaway under the same owners. They are wonderful to work with and their properties are beautifully done. This one looks out over the lake and is so peaceful and serene. It's small but put together really well so you have enough space and have everything you need. They do a great job and we'd certainly come again. And again :)

Absolutely wonderful!
Let me just start out by saying how amazing the owners are! My boyfriend and I came for a last minute weekend trip (we booked the day prior) and we couldn't be more pleased with our experience at this pet friendly rental! Kris was so attentive and flexible, but gave us complete and total privacy. The cabin is absolutely adorable and has everything that you will need for a great trip. The location is gorgeous and has a wonderful lake view and dock access. I would note-the walk up and down the hill to the water can be a bit strenuous (like all lake front homes on this lake). The hill was great for wearing our black lab out as he ran back and forth and even decided to swim! The cabin is just a described and was perfect for the two of us and our big boy (Ranger). The outdoor shower was so cool and far exceeded my expectations! There is no stove or cooktop in the cabin, but there is a great gas grill on the private porch that we used every night. The small fridge/freezer and microwave was just right for our short stay. The kayaks, canoe and paddle boards that were provided for use was a huge bonus! Anything that you can think of for a fun day on the water is available for use at no extra charge (life jackets, floats, paddles, kayaks, canoe, peddle boats, stand up paddle board, float island, etc). We can't wait to come back and visit this location! Thanks for sharing your beautiful tiny with us!

Quaint little cabin on the lake. Very quiet and relaxing location. We used this as a home base while we went hiking in the Garden of the Gods wilderness. We hiked the Indian Point Trail and had great bluff views and clear weather for picture taking.

Clean, Efficient, Little Cabin on a Beautiful Lake.
Great cabin, with great host. One of the cleanest and best organized cabin we have stayed in. The hill back and forth from the dock was a bit of a chore, but got used to it by the end of our stay. The dock is a great place to fish for catfish in the evenings.

Little Moon was exactly what we were looking for and more. Cute, comfortable. The view is beautiful and relaxing. The cabin is well stocked with everything you could need for a stay. The area offers great hiking options - we loved Fern Clyffe State Park. We enjoyed eating on the deck and watching the lake and the wildlife. The outdoor shower is so neat! Kris is super sweet and helpful - ask her for the map of attractions she put together. We had so much fun - we didn't want to leave, and can't wait to go back!

Private, Quiet, and Peaceful Place for a Comfy Getaway
Little Moon Cabin is a one-room, self-contained log cabin with all the essentials in a small space. The loft bed was very comfortable. The view of Lake of Egypt was lovely. The wifi internet worked well. The hosts were helpful and friendly. Being the middle of November, I chose not to use the outdoor shower, but that would not be an issue in warmer months. One of the best nature preserves in Illinois, Heron Pond, is about 25 miles south.

Illinois Bowhunting Trip
The cabin is perfect for one or possibly two persons. It is a cozy little cabin overlooking a lake. The cabin contains a small loveseat, loft with a queen size bed, TV, coffee maker (a must for me) and a toilet. There is a shower just outside the door on the porch. The view is very nice. I spent the week bowhunting public land. The location for my purposes was ideal. I would definitely recommend a stay in the cabin for a single person or couple who want to get away and hike, kayak, fish or just get away and chill. The owners, Matt and Kris, were terrific hosts - they were very friendly, accessible and responsive to my questions and any minor needs I had during the week. Scott (NJ)

Peaceful stay
Little Moon Cabin is a perfect use of a small space! Very efficient, and clean. We had problems closing the sliding door to the bathroom. The distance, and slop going down to lake, was farther and a bit challenging. The ramp was kind of scary because there was nothing to hold on to. We, had a wonderful time, even though it rained. We loved the “feel” of the cabin, and the deck in front. The owner was quick to respond to my messages. I am, and will continue, to refer The Little Moon Cabin to all of my family and friends!

Absolutely perfect!
My husband, our dog and I had an incredibly peaceful and fun-filled time at this tiny cabin. The size was perfect and the location cannot be beat. Right on the lake, with a private dock for fishing and another shared doc on a peninsula with an awesome star gazing deck built on it. The skies at night were perfect for star gazing! And daytime adventures included swimming, fishing, kayaking and just lazing around enjoying the shade from the trees and the quiet of the lake. Only a 10 minute drive to the absolutely gorgeous state park, for a nice adventurous hike, right up the road. Everything really was perfect and we hope to stay here again in the future! This place is a gem and I’m so grateful we found it. It was so nice to getaway to somewhere remote like this. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. I can’t recommend it enough!!!
