Sitting just a short walk from the cool sand of southern Oregon, this coastal cottage is perched in a quiet neighborhood perfect for your next family getaway. Boasting ocean views from the spacious deck and nearly every room, the beach-lovers of the group will be in paradise. Spend foggy mornings with a warm cup of coffee as you walk barefoot along the sand with the family dogs close behind. When everyone starts the day, the chef of the group can head into the fully equipped kitchen and whip up a delicious breakfast for all to enjoy. After enjoying a BBQ on the deck as the sun goes down, everyone can retreat to one of the four rooms or gather for a movie in the living area on the flatscreen TV.

What's nearby:
When you aren't enjoying a picnic on the sand or relaxing on the deck, this area has plenty to offer if you would like to venture out a bit. Just a few minutes away is Otter Point State Recreation Site offering numerous hiking trails and unique sandstone rock formations! Make the scenic drive to Gold Beach proper and you will find a plethora of local restaurants, shops, and supermarkets to stock up on groceries. You won't want to miss out on the clam chowder from Port Hole Cafe or the mussels from Barnacle Bistro!

Good but not great this time

Extremely dirty upon arrival. Not 1 roll of toilet paper in the place. Upstairs bath fan broken. Kitchen utensils, dishes and cookware need to be upgraded and expanded. Otherwise good floorpan, great location, reasonable price (if it were clean).

Great location, lousy management

This house is in a lovely location. Ocean views and 5 minute walk to a spacious beach, complete with tide pools at low tide. Quiet neighborhood.Our experience with Vacasa as the management company was as usual. Surface cleaning, full garbage cans, and inadequate communication. One of the beds was broken so one couple had to put the mattress on the floor after cleaning up dog food and candy rappers from under the bed. We asked for a refund of some kind because one family had to sleep on the floor. No response at all from Vacasa. All of the responses from Vacasa were AI and resulted in no action. The place is worth staying in for location and roominess of house. Well equipped. Just be prepared for situations mentioned in reviews.

Gold Beach Views

My family love the house, the views were great. The kitchen was well stocked. We would stay again. My only concern was the stair rail was broken and since I’m disabled it made going up and down the stairs harder. When I reported it they didn’t respond to me concern so I had to call again. During my stay they were unable to repair it because they had to order a part. Later in the week there were ants the offered to come out and take of it. Since we were leaving the day we told them to wait.

Needs to be cleaned better

The house itself needs to be cleaned and maintained better. There were still towels in the dryer, dust accumulated on the fan so when we turned it on it blew everywhere. Tape on the walls. Blinds bent and broke and the handle to go upstairs was also broke at the bottom. The master bath fan doesn’t work either. The worst part was when my daughters went to bed they pulled the blanket back and found dog feces under the pillow like it was left intentionally.

Disgusting garbage area

The outside garbage area was disgusting! It was full of maggots. The neighbors said the garbage flies all over their property. There were dog pee stains on the carpets. The Wifi was out for our entire stay. A technician came out and was not able to fix the problem. He said we would receive a partial refund. After calling 3 different times, no refund was ever given. The location was gorgeous. But the garbage situation was horrid.

Great house; terrible management

I'm sorry to give such a lovely house the one-star-rating. The house is clean, well-stocked, bright, and very near the ocean. However the management was so terrible that I can't go above one. When we got to the house, the wifi wasn't working. We tried a few things and then called the corporation that manages the property, Vacasa. Long wait, but they gave me a ticket number, then no followup. So I texted with the corporation and would ask for help and every single time, they would start with asking me to reset the modem, and then promising to send local help. Which was never followed up on! And then I'd hear nothing, so I'd write in to see about progress, and they'd start in again at, "Can you reset the modem". I felt so entirely disregarded and ignored! The thing is, my own house doesn't have wifi, so my kids were really looking forward to wifi in the house as part of the vacation treat. And it was so incredibly frustrating that I just couldn't get anybody to care about the problem and help fix it! Plus a couple of their people told me there was a service outage, but this was a bald lie, because I checked with the local ISP, and there was no service outage. So: the missing wifi was a really big deal for my family. Vacasa ended up refunding me an insulting $50 for the inconvenience. I would have far rather had help than the tiny refund. I will never, never, never stay at a place managed by Vacasa, ever again. I will look for rentals by OWNER, not corporation!

Spring Break at the Beach

Very clean property and great layout for family gathering. We enjoyed our stay and experienced a true Oregon beach vacation, with sun, surf, sand and storms all regularly visiting us. Property is a quick walk to the beach (note there is not a lot of beach at high tides and bring your own beach towels from home). The location is peaceful and near many outdoor activities but the nearby town is very sparsely populated with food or things to see or do. Property management was very responsive. All in all a fun trip. Thank you.

Great location

This house was very clean, well equipped with easy access to a beautiful beach. The kitchen had everything you would need. The beds were comfortable with extra bedding. There were tons of games and activities for kids. We will remember this one and stay here again!

Beach Escape

Lovely home and location, great potential. Property management lacking in the details in our opinion. On arrival, the lock box was not locked of functional. The key was in it, just open. The secondary location had no lock box, just a cover. I checked the house, before I let my family in, in case we were not alone. On further inspection, the garage door latch was not locked and was bent to the point that it did not work. The downstairs smelled of garage. The trash can was full in the garage from past guests. No directions on what or when trash day is. I emptied as much as I could into the dumpster between the houses, but it was maxed out as well. The list grew from their; Coffee pot does not work, Hand can opener is not functional, did find the electric one later, it works great. Refrigerator was not wiped out, neede to clean before we stored our stuff. When turning down the kids bed, found a rock collection from a previous guest under the covers. Partial roll of toilet paper in upstairs bathroom and one in the downstairs, no back up. One partial roll of paper towels were in the kitchen as well, no extra. No pepper in shaker. Added it to the shopping list. We had to make a quick run to the store for items you would hope to have on hand for the $$ I paid. The kitchen is stocked with a collection of mix matched dishes, not a big deal, just random. Also, the only sign in the house is the "CHECKOUT IS AT 10AM" Posted on the refrigerator. Not the greeting one would expect for your arrival to start our vacation.

Great location, disappointment inside

The house was within a short walk of a beautiful beach and had beautiful deck views. Sadly, the living space was not comfortable for our family because the furniture (sofa and two lounge chairs) was too soft to be comfortable. We sank into them. There were only two throw pillows provided, so that wasn't an option. We were also disappointed that the coffee maker and barbecue were of poor quality. The carpet was also greatly in need of shampooing. A little upgrading of amenities would make this house much more inviting. Considering that we paid significant management fees to both VRBO and VACASA, we expected more for our money.

Family get together

It was nice clean. Pretty view from porch. Kitchen wasn't well set up to cook for large amount of people. Other than that very nice stay. Something to do for everyone. Posibbly a map of where the small trails that lead to the beach, would be helpful.
