We had a fantastic stay, good and large selection of breakfast. Cocktails at the sunset bar was delicious. Lovely garden and pool area. We would love to visit again.

Fantastisk hotell, med enormt hyggelige ansatte - de hjelper deg med alt det skulle være! Veldig fint hotellområde med stort basseng, i tillegg til at det ligger rett ved siden av havet. Svært god mat på hotellet, men også utrolig god mat på restauranter like i nærheten - godt å kunne variere litt. Alt i alt, et supert opphold

We loved this hotel and staff was very attentive and rooms were nice and big. It was our most relaxing stay in Malaysia. Buffet breakfast was great. Beach wasnt that clean or swimmable due to jellyfishes being out because of rainstorms.

We've got upgraded to the Lanai Suite which was spacious for a family. Housekeeping staff are also prompt to clean our rooms. Unfortunately, Javana Lounge is an open lounge that's not enclosed so it is quiet humid if trying to enjoy drinks and snacks there. Cinnamon Asian Kitchen aircon unfortunately could not keep cool enough for guests indoor hence very hot while having breakfast or dinner. Also, breakfast and dinner food is just so so, cooking skills are not up to standard for a 5 star hotel.

Hotel was clean, pool and garden presentable looking out to the beach, however the service especially at the garden/pool was very slow. Sometimes needed to follow up the order twice and when the fries came they were cold and stale. There was a nice variety of shops at the hotel from jewellery to clothes to medicine and sunscreens, this was nice to see. And I would highly rate the hotel gym, clean and great equipment and view. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was fantastic but the restaurant at the hotel Gustoso was not great at all, we celebrated my mums 60th there and sadly the food was very disappointing, also cold. The twin room was clean and comfy but there were no slippers or bathrobes provided and although we requested a refill of shampoo twice, it was not provided. For the price of the hotel stay, I would expect much better service and amenities.

The hotel seems poorly maintained and the lights give the hotel a dull feel. The surfaces around the property was sticky, very noisy in the room with the fireworks for CNY that it kept us awake at night. I wouldn’t say it was worth it to come to Batu Ferranghi unless it’s for a standout resort.

Well located hotel on the Batu Ferringhi beach. The property is a bit older and needs some renovations. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with multiple dining options within the hotel as well as within walking distance.

1) Was confirmed 2 rooms next to each other at booking but it never happen 2) Check in was 3pm as advertised but received room keys at about 4.30pm and 5pm respectively (2rooms) 3) Was informed by staff that since room keys were delivered late, was offered a late checkout at 1.30pm instead of 12noon. However, we were locked out of bedroom at 12noon. 4) My overall rating for Parkroyal Hotel Resort, Penang….we will not use it again unless no other hotels available in Penang.

Very comfortable stay, exceptional breakfast.
I was recommended by my husband who visited this hotel a few times when he was a kid. He told me that the breakfast buffet, swimming pool and beach are hard to miss. Finally we can visit Penang and stay in this hotel and indeed it remains true today! The Javana lounge allows us to relax and enjoy a few glasses of cocktails (with some board games ready for us to enjoy.) Additional bonus is the spa service in late afternoon! We shall choose Parkroyal Hotel again when we visit Penang in the near future!

Beautiful pools, vast breakfast buffet
Our family of 4 stayed here for 3 nights to attend a friend's wedding. Rooms were stylish and seemed relatively recently renovated, with plenty of space. Everything was super clean and housekeeping did a great job every day. Breakfast buffet was a bit overwhelming the first morning we arrived, and they do have a huge sign recommending people come earlier to avoid the peak time. I did see long lines of guests waiting to be seated as the staff were run off their feet, but I guess that's just how it is in a big hotel. Food selection was incredibly wide but the quality of each item was just okay, not amazing and not terrible. I guess that's typical for such a huge buffet. The kids spent pretty much our entire stay at the pools, which they loved. One thing though is that when we arrived at the pools after breakfast we found a lot of the loungers already had towels on them but no one in sight. A staff member said people would come before breakfast, grab pool towels, put them down and then not come back until later. We saw some loungers that had been 'reserved' in this way stay unoccupied for maybe 3 hours! I think the hotel should have a policy that you should only be able to use the loungers if you're actually IN the pool at the time, if not you should have to give it up for other guests. Staff were friendly and helpful, they lent us some sunscreen on the first day as we didn't have any with us. Overall a very nice resort but probably some things could be improved.

Lovely resort by the beach
The whole experience was awesome. Me and my family were extremely happy throughout our stay. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and professional, from the moment we were greeted upon arrival up to our departure from the resort. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the hotel had an overall relaxing resort vibe. Housekeeping and the hotel amenities were great and the breakfast spread was good too.

Not so good, hotel room was great ocean view. Check in was good. Service for the pool was non existent- give you a call button for no service, pool area lots of ants and dirt, day beds old and not enough for the amount of people. No drinking in the pool. Wait service in the lounge was terrible, the hallway to the room was absolutely disgusting and smelt terrible. No beach lounges to sit on the beach, the breakfast was good.

Overall we enjoyed our stay & will stay here again in the future. However, it wasn’t without negatives. Positives: Evening seafood buffet was outstanding. Breakfast buffet was plentiful even at busiest times. Beds very comfortable. Extra children’s bed was excellent & comfortable. Room was large. Lobby scenic. Rooms cleaned quickly. Activities were numerous. Great NYE party. Little extras such as welcome fruit & chocolates, NYE party bags. Spring rolls best ever. Negatives: Arrived at 3pm after flying through night with our child. Room not ready. We had to wait for 55mins for our room. Front desk staff not welcoming & no apology. When we got to our room housekeeping were still there setting up our extra bed. Had to stand aside waiting for another 10 mins. Then forgot to leave a 3rd towel. One evening we ordered room service from the ITALIAN restaurant. We ordered Spring Rolls, lasagne, gnocchi, margarita pizza, 2 ginger ales, 1 juice. We were told no lasagne so changed to Portabello Pizza. They called 15mins later. No gnocchi, so changed this to ravioli. They called 20mins later. No ginger ale, so changed this to juice. Arrived 15mins later. Missing both pizzas and had a meat pizza instead. Called restaurant and they sent the correct 2 pizzas approx 20min later. Although we had these problems we still very much enjoyed our stay and hope that we can return and the staff will be friendlier. We hope that it was only because it was busy.

Clean, beautiful pool, great food and location
This is the second time we've stayed in this resort, previously in 2019. Our family of 4 stayed in the family suite which has a king bed, day bed and pull out trundle for the 4th person to sleep. More than adequate and comfortable. With the trundle bed out, the room is a bit restricted with movement but it more than satisfies our needs as we're out of the room most of the time, or on the balcony. The toiletries provided are nice and replenished daily, as is the bottled water. Rooms are clean and well presented. The facilities in the hotel are nice in terms of the pool, the kid's pool is safe and fun with waterslides and a splashpark, the main swimming pool is beautiful, very clean, well lit for night swimming until 9pm and is well serviced with towels. The F&B service was slow on most days and could take up to 30mins for food to arrive after waiting 15mins to even place our order. The buffet choice is excellent for breakfast and dinner but equally great are the large choice of restaurants and food stalls nearby, all within a 1-10min walk from the hotel on either side of the main entrance. The room for families I would recommend this hotel for families and couples.

This was a beautiful resort. We enjoyed our stay, but if there is one thing I might critique, it would be that they could have done better with the suppers. M We ate there once and didn’t eat again we went out to eat, and some of the people that we met said that it used to be better along time ago I guess probably because that chef retired. Another thing is if you could clean the carpets in the hallways or else put new carpet in there that would be even better yet otherwise we had an enjoyable stay.

Outstanding Resort
Room was fabulous, overlooked the sea and pool. Would highly recommend this Hotel. First time visitor to Penang but will definitely be back again. There is a lot to see and do!
