I did not eat breakfast at Hampton Inn Gatlinburg TN. Checked in on the 11th of Jan. and got hit with fees after paying expedia for fees prior to arrival. I was told that my extra $200 was fot 15 dollars a day & 25 a day for parking! If expedia already got the fees from me why did Hampton Inn charge more? Something was wrong.
Their elevator the onky one was out after 3 days stay so because of my handicap I had to use two flights of stairs. Im currently in pain from that trip now. All the usual shops and restaurants wer mostly closed nearby and never opened...not even on Friday. My adult son skied most of the week but the tram malfunctioned and his last night was spent waiting on a bus to leave after being froze to death by Obers snow machine. It was a cold night with flurries with no need for snow making machine. He among others were leaving the slopes early because the ice from the machines were running and blow wer ice on every one skiing. Lots of people left for the tram but ended up waiting covered with ice outside Ober. Those people should have been refunded by the tram...too much inconvenience going on in the last 2 days...oh the beds were bumpy or uncomfortable. Housekeeping would make beds with the same sheets and cover all week. But the last day i told the housekeeper not to worry about it.She was nice enough to provide us extra towels. So thats it, corporate america has taken over Gatlinburg tennessee...the yesterdays are definitely gone :(
