We booked multiple rooms over the same weekend to house employees during severe weather, and the experience revealed serious operational and security failures.
On two separate mornings, shortly after 9:00 a.m., the power went out for over an hour and a half. Both outages occurred immediately after breakfast, leaving us locked out of our rooms. Front desk staff stated they had no override access to room locks and were unable to provide any explanation, estimated resolution time, or meaningful assistance.
One evening, a hotel employee was openly smoking substances (not cigarettes) directly outside the front entrance. This was highly unprofessional, inappropriate for a guest-facing area, and raised legitimate safety concerns.
Most troubling, a bag was removed from one of our rooms by housekeeping. When the issue was reported, front desk staff initially denied any knowledge of the item or its whereabouts. After remaining at the desk without leaving, the bag appeared behind the front desk, offered back with no explanation as to how it got there. This incident completely undermined trust in the hotel’s security and internal controls.
While the property itself is visually appealing and the beds are comfortable, these positives do not outweigh the lack of accountability, professionalism, and basic operational safeguards.
A nice facility cannot compensate for serious failures in management and staff conduct.
This stay was unacceptable.
