2/10 – Forferdelig

Overall, this property has some positives, but there were a few notable drawbacks that impacted the experience. The booking guide did indicate where parking was—on the right-side entrance in front of the unit. However, unless you have a 4x4 vehicle, there was no practical way to access the drive. I attempted to back in and hit the 14" curb. Additionally, other tenants had parked on the street and taken up most of the available space, which made parking even more challenging. The entry porch was more worn than pictured. I had looked forward to enjoying some time outside with afternoon tea and a book, but ultimately found the space unappealing and a bit cramped.Inside, the living room and kitchen were as shown—very cute and comfortable—and the bed was also quite comfortable. That said, I specifically booked the home for the “cowboy pool,” and this was a major disappointment. The actual pool felt more like a cow trough with a single jet, no ledge for setting a drink, and a neighbor’s window directly above, which limited any sense of privacy. If you’re looking to get a feel for what close-quarters living in Galveston is like—zero lot lines, views into neighboring backyards, and minimal private outdoor space—this property does offer that perspective. Just be aware of the trade-offs depending on what kind of experience you’re hoping for.
