Larkin we agree the location just can't be beat and our Bench St home is so unique and comfortable. One thing to note, this home is registered as a Galena Historical home, this means no exterior changes can be made. There is not plexiglass however custom made interior storm windows in the main level and some windows cannot open due to their age. The front storm door does have a screen option and can be opened like you mentioned and the back of the home has a huge screened in porch for all the fresh air you may require. Secondly we cannot notify our guests of work being done by anyonein the city. Downtown is so large and when you stay downtown you will get the downtown sights and sounds, it's part of the charm. A residential street such as Bench will have garbage trucks, construction noise, street sweepers, etc. We hope future guests will understand that when booking a a City of Galena home.
