Formally known as Haussegen Platz Cottage, The Wildflower Cottage is a beautiful historic property that has been recently renovated and is only 1/2 a block from Marktplatz and 1 block from Main Street!

Like previous guests have described, this beautiful Cottage is like stepping out of a Fairy Tale...

This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home was built by hand in 1994 using the original materials from the Hummingbird Haus (also available to rent) at the front of the property which was built in 1770 in Allentown Pennsylvania before being transported to Fredericksburg in 1988. A true step back in time!!

The Wildflower Cottage was designed to match the same look and feel of the 1770's Hummingbird Haus and has maintained its charm containing much of the original doors, hardware, windows, wide plank flooring and ceiling beams.

This beautiful home is located in the Historical District and Commercial District of Downtown Fredericksburg within a few steps of Marktplatz and Fredericksburg's most popular shops, restaurants, Museum of the Pacific War and is two doors down from the famous Fredericksburg Pie Company!

With all new comfy linens, furniture, bedding and mattress you will feel right at home. Every aspect of the home has beautiful décor throughout and has been thought out very carefully with our guests in mind. And the location is unbeatable!!

As you walk into the Private Cottage entrance off Austin St you will be blown away by the gorgeous and well-manicured landscaping featuring a large array of flowers, greenery and even tomatoes! All the cobblestone paver pathways were done by hand and adds to the beauty of the property and “Wildflowers”.

Enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings after a long day on the large porch in the rocking chairs listening to the birds chirp and smelling the flowers or make your way to the table on the wooden deck and enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the mornings while relaxing in the beautiful shared landscaping.

As you make your way indoors you will find the open living room which consists of beautiful floral décor, large comfortable sleeper sofa, chandelier ceiling fan/light, original stone fireplace and a 50" Smart TV for streaming ability (No Cable) where you can enjoy a peaceful evening inside taking in the history of the home! There is also a dining table and chairs as you enter the kitchen. The cute antique tea cart boasts an array of Keurig coffee pods, sweeteners and creamers for you to enjoy. There is also a mini fridge, microwave and toaster in the cabinets as well as utensils, plates, cups and wine glasses.

The relaxing master bedroom contains a Queen bed, chandelier light/ceiling fan and an armoire. The room also has a private entrance to the front porch.

The full bathroom features a step in shower and original vanity from when it was built.

Whether visiting Fredericksburg to enjoy Downtown shopping and dining as well as the Nimitz Museum, Museum of the Pacific War and downtown wineries or to venture out to Enchanted Rock, Wildseed Farms or a Winery Tour of all 290 wineries, this is the spot for you! We provide hair dryers, iron and ironing boards as well as Travel size Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash and Soaps for all our guests. All linens and towels are laundered and sanitized for each new guest! All-natural cleaning products from the Melaluca line are used throughout the house to sanitize and clean without using harsh chemicals.

***We encourage all guests to purchase Travel Insurance. The Cancellation Policy will come into effect AS IS if the guest chooses to cancel the Reservation***

***Access: You will have your own private walkway to the Cottage directly off Austin St which is next to The Hummingbird Haus***

***Parking: Austin St is part of the Commercial District Downtown. Due to it being right off Main St, Parking is on a first come first serve basis. When you arrive, there may not be parking directly in front of the entrance. However, parking opens up later in the afternoon where you can then claim your spot. ***

***Please note Wifi can be intermittent at times in Downtown Fredericksburg and is out of our control***

***Do not block the Yellow No Parking Zone or the sidewalk in front of the house or the cobblestone driveway next to The Hummingbird Haus or you will be towed***
