As I start this review, I ask any reader to understand this is the umpteen millionth hotel stay for us in the US or world and I never only post negative reviews. I am actually more of a positive review poster as I believe in lifting people up, but I firmly believe establishments also need to have feedback and an opportunity for improvement.
We checked in on 12/22 on a personal visit to family for the holidays. On 12/24 at approximately 8:30 am requested for the room to be touched up, particularly for towels and making the bed. As the hotel site on Expedia lists daily housekeeping, we figured maybe it was a requested service and it had not been done the day before. We returned late on the 24th and room had not been serviced, but the window was opened, leaving the room extremely humid and uncomfortable.
As we came back to the room on the 25th we asked for towels. The clerk asked us to bring the used ones down. In all my stays, I have never been asked to do this. I have been asked to put them outside the door for housekeeping to pick them up on rounds. As we were in this conversation, my partner asked if there was a way to check if the room had been serviced, and the clerk didn’t have a means to do that. He pulled a check sheet but didn’t see any info for our room. In today’s era that to be true. Ultimately we left early because we felt dismissed and not cared for as a guest.
