This quaint and historic village is a short three miles south of Hendersonville and just under 30 miles from the bustling activity of Asheville. This quiet mountain town is a must-see with its breathtaking views, countless parks, and hiking trails. Flat Rock was established back in the early 1800s when it was called the “Little Charleston of the Mountains.” Then, visitors flocked to the area to escape the North Carolina heat. Today, tourists come to explore the mountains, float the rivers, hike the trails, shop the eclectic stores, and sample the local fare. You can expect to find southern folk art, locally grown produce, antiques, and good old mountain town hospitality. Find your little piece of heaven and explore Flat Rock for yourself!
