Looking for an authentic getaway in the heart of the Cathar countryside? Our spacious 180 m² family home is located in Fanjeaux, a remarkable medieval town, and is ideal for a family with children. Welcome to our family home—a place to be experienced as much as it is to be explored. Here, everyone naturally finds their place. The spacious rooms invite you to share meals, conversations, or games, while smaller, more intimate nooks—especially the patio—are perfect for reading, daydreaming, or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. The home effortlessly blends heirloom furniture with works of art. Frescoes, wall murals, and carefully selected objects give it a unique personality and, as you move from room to room, reveal a genuine passion for interior design, art, and creativity. High ceilings, fireplaces, and antique terracotta tiles harmonize with modern comforts. Renovated with an eco-friendly approach, the house stays naturally cool in the summer thanks to its thick walls, and in the winter, it envelops you like a cocoon. Fans are available. The fully equipped kitchen opens onto a dining room perfect for lively gatherings. The living room, with its bookshelf, invites you to slow down, while a second, more intimate living room is ideal for board games and moments of relaxation. Upstairs, everyone has their own space: a master bedroom with a small sitting area and office, and the “Peter Pan” dormitory—a space designed for children, where books, comic books, games, and treasures invite them to invent their own adventures. Two bathrooms and a laundry room round out the amenities. Everything is within walking distance: a café, bakery, grocery store, restaurants, tea room, tourist office, and pharmacy. Hiking trails and the GR78, part of the Pyrenean Piedmont route to Santiago de Compostela, begin right at the foot of the house. Free parking with an electric vehicle charging station is available in the small plaza. The house is also an ideal starting point for exploring the region’s treasures: the Citadel of Carcassonne, the Cathar castles, Mirepoix and its market, the Canal du Midi, the Pyrenees, whitewater rivers, and the art exhibitions that enliven the village all summer long.
