Winter Wonderland

The property has amazing views from every angle. It’s a nice little cozy cabin the makes you forget about the real world. The location is perfect for a nice little drive to Breckenridge with the most breathtaking views along the way. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who wants the perfect mountain getaway.

Spotlessly clean; beautiful cabin with large windows, fireplace, deck; quiet. We enjoyed several hikes in the Rockies near Breckinridge. Saw moose on our way driving out one day! Very comfortable!

Looking for a reprieve from the blazing summer heat? This is the spot! The cabin was very clean and cozy, as well as comfortable. The neighbors are far enough away that you barely see or hear them, and it feels remote enough for what we were looking for (while being close to town). It is in a high altitude location with lots of alpine forest and shade to cool you. Judy was very responsive to any questions we had and making sure our checkin and stay went smoothly, and she was lovely! The cabin is just across from a nice babbling creek which you can hear from the porch, and you can see moose there if you go around dawn or dusk. We fed the birds and the hummingbirds with the seed and feeder provided, and we had so many fun creatures visit :) It is close to town which has a grocery store and some restaurants. It is also very easy and fast to get to Breckenridge and great hiking spots out that way. Breckenridge is super adorable with lots of things to do and see, and we definitely recommend it. Book this cabin, you won’t regret it!

Exactly What We Needed!

This was the first vacation that just my son and I have taken, and he had never seen Colorado before. I wanted to give him the "in the mountains" kind of experience, and this cabin is the definition of it. The cabin is beautiful and cozy, while being open and full of light when you need it. We had everything we needed, including awesome places to explore and hike just outside the front door. I can't recommend this cabin enough, it was perfection!

Peaceful and beautiful

We stayed at this house for one week . The house was perfect ! Clean & neat and peaceful ! The kitchen was pretty well equipped, but could use some knifes …there was only butter knifes , a pairing knife and a butcher knife , a few steak knifes would be a good addition.

Save Time Book This Cabin Now!!!

Look No Further!!!! This is not a paid review, reserve this location now for your next trip. I have had nothing but excellent service provided from the host in terms of cleanliness, additional perks of quality hair shampoo, conditioner, and included shower hand towels which are normally not provided by majority other host bookings. Communication with this host has been the best experience especially for incoming first time travelers to Colorado as recomendations have been suggested from activities, high altitude preparations, and assistance locating the cabin.

Almost secluded, all the comforts, ton of windows provide light and views.

We stayed in August and liked it so much we came back in September. It was everything that's in the pictures and beyond! It's clean, modern, cool on hot days and warm on cold days. Very private. Separated from the neighboring cabin on one side by a ridge of a hill, and from the other side, trees. Both neighbors are maybe 100 yards away. We've never heard any sign of life from either. Dirt road is also 100 yards away, and only occasionally traveled. So you experience real peace for the length of your stay. Those tall windows make the place very bright and welcoming, and also you can see views out the windows from anywhere inside. In conclusion, everything was fantastic, and we are considering coming yet again in the future. J+M+K+A.

Really enjoyed our stay

Nice getaway from Denver. Easy to get to, good access to a lot of the mountains and trails at Hoosier Ridge. Perfect size cabin for a couple. Wouldn't try to fit too many more people in the space though - probably max of 2 adults and maybe a kid or two. Hosts were very accommodating. Will look at this property for future occasions.

February Birthday trip

Oh how beautiful!! We loved the place. The host was very responsive. Make sure to bring your own food if you want to cook. When we stayed the host did have the basic condiments such as salt, pepper, coffee. If you do bring stuff make sure to stop at your local supermarket (we stopped at Target). There is a local shop that sells food & groceries about 10 mins away. We went in February so there was snow everywhere, so if youre planning on going during the winter - then make sure to rent a 4 wheeler. Also due to the altitude make sure to bring medicine. My friend got altitude sickness. I was fine. Breckenridge was about 30 mins away. Also there are speed traps when you go through the little so please make sure you’re paying attention! I recommend this cabin- it was comfy and clean and the views were beautiful. I will definitely be back but this time during the spring.

Relaxing among the pines

My husband and I booked this lovely cabin in the pines for 5 days and absolutely loved our stay! I can’t put my finger on it but it took no time to feel like we were home! The cabin was clean and well maintained. It had everything we needed to stay comfortable including plenty of staples/basics for cooking including cast iron pans! Conveniently located to larger towns if that’s important to you but plenty of supplies, shopping available in Fairplay. Only 30 Minutes to Breckenridge and an hour to Salida. We took a day trip to Salida and loved the town but were happy to get back to Fairplay and the cabin. Judy reached out prior to our stay and was responsive when I reached out to her. I highly recommend breaking out the hummingbird feeder (if you’re there in the warmer months) and make sure to grab some peanuts for the chipmunks too! We used the wood burning stove every evening and enjoyed the warmth and ambiance it provided (it got into the 40’s each night we were there and rained every afternoon). Overall a fabulous stay and we would definitely consider staying here again if our Colorado travels bring us to this area again.

Modern, charming, and relaxing

I stayed here with a friend for a quick getaway and we both loved our time here. The cabin is modern and clean but still charming. The location is beautiful and quiet, and we really enjoyed our bird visitors. We had daily visits from hummingbirds, jays, and chickadees as well as chipmunks and squirrels. Would absolutely return.

Skiing vacation

Great location in the woods away from the city. Saw Moose just down the road from the cabin a couple times. Nice clean cabin with everything we needed. It was higher in elevation than I expected, so make sure you plan for that. The drive to Breckinridge was easy, and scenic. Took a bit longer than I expected, but was worth it.

Great spot!

We had a huge amount of snow. Even when two minutes away had none. I’m not sure why that is but we were not complaining. We could not seen the neighbors which was nice. The house has everything you need and some people left food behind and so did we to return the favor. The heat works great and everything else does, too. Judy was very helpful with the whole thing’. FairPlay is very close for groceries. Breckinridge is way too crowded so we were glad we were not too close to there. Great hiking nearby. We drove about an hour and a half to snowmobiling and it was a beautiful ride. We skied in Breckenridge. We would love to come back next time we head to Colorado!

Good but could be better

The shower was the number one thing that made the property a disappointment. There is so little water pressure that it was a better idea to not take a shower than waste my time trying to use the shower. Please get that checked because the shower is such an important part of a rental stay. Overall the location was great nice and secluded.

Very Perfect Valley of the Sun

This cabin could not be more perfect. From the location, the views, the layout...everything about it was wonderful for me, my husband and two of our kids. The cabin is cozy, modern and has windows strategically placed to take advantage of the outside. I especially liked waking up in the bedroom where the mountain comes right up to the window. We had a full moon, so the cathedral windows lit up at night. The location is close to everything: fishing, hiking Buffalo Peaks and the Limber Grove and rafting in Buena Vista. The hosts were wonderful and provided all kinds of helpful information. The only thing we'd do differently is stay longer.

Comfy and cute secluded cabin

This is the perfect getaway cabin. All the comforts of home, yet tucked away in the mountains and trees of Colorado. The owners were SO responsive and have literally thought of everything to make for a great experience. Our stay was absolutely delightful. We never tried to make our way to the creek, but loved listening to the babbling of the brook from the amazing cabin deck. We will definitely stay again when we return to the area.

The property was perfect for our stay. All accommodation were there nicely decorated. Location was ideal for hiking and offroad trails. We will definitely be returning to this location for another stay.
