This is the 7th year in a row that my family has stayed here and it’s normally very good but this year was different. The room had no pool robes or towels, no cream and sugar for the coffee, the shampoo dispenser was empty, the tub had no shower curtain installed, the beds were doubles not Queens like listed in the booking. Then they had moved the Steamers cafe to a nook area across from the check-in so it had reduced seating and was very busy and noisy, good luck relaxing here with coffee and a newspaper now. The old location beside the Antlers restaurant was much better and more cozy feeling. Then we discovered that the breakfast at Antlers was now only a buffet, no more menu, and they charged $31.00 a plate for the buffet! That’s pretty rich for a breakfast buffet in my world.
I hate giving this negative review because I’ve always really liked staying here but this time the magic of the place was just gone. The staff were all great but it just wasn’t a special experience because of the shortcomings this year. I think we’ll be trying somewhere else next time for our vacation.
