Super convenient, but small
If you're going to ECity to fish these cabins are very convenient and the local people and employees are awesome. I didn't realize I rented only 1/2 of the cabin which was very small (300 sq ft)! Parking became a problem because me and the guy renting the other half each trailered boats and there's only parking for one. For $125/night it would have been nice to have coffee in the room and more than 2 towels for 3 days...but I would stay again, my wife would not. 4 Stars because I love the fishing community at Glades Haven, great Restaurant (Millers), steps from the boat ramp, bait shop, and boat wash station.

Cabin is well equipped, full size fridge, stive, microwave. Nice bed and linens, didbt use the other 2 beds. Air conditioning worked well. Thank goodness for the restaurant next door, Publix is 40 minutes away!

OK for peaceful get away and access to Everglades. Do NOT expect any luxury. Cell phone coverage is minimal. NO Wifi

TV never got signal and staff's hands are tied because these cabins are owned and they just manage the "rentals." Nice paneling inside but lots of cheap fixes. Mostly used by boaters. Check -in inefficient and confusing - staff is mostly about serving deli food, kayak operations, etc. Not good value for money.

Stay in the larger cabin if available, the smaller ones are a little tiny. Great location for fishing

awesome little hide a way
we have stayed here 3 years in a row. We come down for a memorial out in the everglades & stay here the night before & then after we come back from camping out in Big Cypress. Vicki, the lady that works up front was very accommodating & more than helpful. We like a particular room, & she made every effort to make sure we had the same room for Friday & Sunday night.

Nice vacation cottage
This is NOT a hotel. It's a vacation cottage and quite a pleasant one. We were right on the water and had a lovely view from the screen porch. It has one bedroom, a living room, a loft, a kitchen, and a bath, all quite small but very comfortable. No maid service, no amenities, no reception but you can easily walk to a good restaurant and to a large National Park Service place.

Nice, simple cabin but needs some repair.
We liked the place, which has a pleasing rustic ambiance. However, for the prices they charge they really need to pay more attention to their upkeep. The cabin has a screened in lanai porch which is a perfect place to sit outside in the evenings. Or it would have been if there weren't so many holes in the screen! It offered little protection from the mosquitoes and after trying to endure it for awhile we gave up and just went back in the cabin.

We had a very comfortable stay. After having issues with one of the evening staff the day shift manager was awesome

Good location everglades
We stayed here at start and end of 5 day kayaking (tenting) tour of Everglades 10,000 islands and perfect for that. Took previous poster's tip of booking cabin 10 which was very nice, faced canal with lots of water birds, and even had free wifi.

Very little hot water, no heater and the air did not work. Cabin was clean. The location is good. For 200 dollars a night I will never stay there again.

Disorganized and specifics weren't as stated on hotels.com. For a one night rate this was priced astronomically high especially considering some of the furniture was broken and not use-able and the mattress was brick hard.

WONDERFUL!
WONDERFUL!!! Basically this is a house on stilts. We had house 6 which runs parallel to the water, just a dirt track away. Sitting out on the decking, screened from mossys, drinking our bourbon .. Great! The town itself is very sleepy ... Make sure you stock up before you enter the Evergulades, that said, the shop on site did stock wonderful stuff. There is also a bar serving food and drinks (didn't use). The houses are privately opened and are huge! Three bed, two baths, full kitchen, diner and living room. Guest laundry on site as well as pool. If you like fishing, river runs straight outside, gaters and catfish .. Even baby sharks (according to house 7). Loads of places doing airboat tours. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere quiet for a few days.

Don't go there...
Room - room way to expensive for what it is - no wifi although it was written on my reservation - Not clean - lots of dust above cupboards, etc - we even found a cockroach in the bathroom Staff - not particularly friendly and they don't know anything about the area. No great help. Location - ok, especially good for people looking to fish - walking trails are more towards Miami or towards Marco Island - no great place to eat. For lunches places are ok. I would recommend going to Goodland Island for more relax and cute places to eat (Island just before marco Island) We went there end of May and definitively the latest to go as bugs and Mosquitos are already quite bad. Make sure you have a super strong repellent... I would definitively not go back there anymore.

I came down to do some gulf fishing. The hotel? Is a small cabin that is as near to camping as it gets but it worked fine by myself. I wouldn't bring my wife.

I would recommend this hotel, with reservations.
Pluses: The cabin has been refurbished and was clean. Staff members were pleasant. The deli that is associated with the cabins offers very good and fresh breakfast sandwiches and other food. The location is excellent. Minuses: The hot water ran out, and the shower pan pools, due to poor drainage. The cabin has very little surface area on which to put travel items (e.g., cosmetics, purses, paper/pens).

The advertised picture was totally misrepresented. Nothing was on the water. No balcony. Free phone calls, but no phone. NO CLEAN TOWELS OR BEDDING FOR A WEEK. NO RAILING on steep steps. No screen door. One bar of soap to share between shower and sink outside the bathroom.No coffee, tea or kitchen amenities. NO MAID SERVICE. We were told to do our own sweeping and dishwashing ( no dish towels) or there would be a $150 fine. Cockroaches in the bed. Window blinds were broken and didn't work, but you couldn't see out the windows because they hadn't been washed in months. Throw rug in living room was dirty. Definitely "camping out" Charge $10 to use the laundry and then $3.00 a load and $3.00 to dry. (The dryer was buried under table and chairs and difficult to get to.) I too tired to continue. This was totally unacceptable.

know what to expect
the room was small, info you need to know ahead when traveling with a family, little to no hot water for showering, after a full day of activities, you will get a 2.5 minute shower, then wait 15 minutes for next several times no hot water, you do all your own housekeeping, which is ok if you know ahead of time , plastic covering under bed sheets ?? not sure why, great location, a heater for the first night would have been nice very cold,

The "cabins" are privately owned. Check in is done by a third party at the bait shop. There's a list of things you have to do when you leave. It was quiet, the TV was outdated, the bed was squeaky. However, not all cabins are like that. I was expecting a screened in porch, but didn't get one. We were in the back. If you want a quiet out of the way place, this is for you. Across the street is the Everglades National Park. We took a pontoon ride that was very informative. You can also rent private air boat rides. We'd never been in this area before so it was interesting.

If you choose to return to the area again we do have many styles of rentals. It sounds like you may have been in the duplex half cabin unit, which thru Expedia the front and back half are rented the same and no options to identify which unit you have booked, generally they are just the no porch booking since it is a $20.00 upgrade for the unit with the porch but we do have other style of rental and the full size is a roomy cabin with large screened porches and the houses are just wonderful.

OK Choice
An adequate place, I guess, for guys who spend all day fishing. Our cabin, 2A, was quite cramped and not squeaky clean. There's no housekeeping service during your stay, although you can get clean towels every day at the office. The staff is helpful. We did like the location, right across the road from Everglades National Park, but I would choose a different place to stay in the future.

Thank You for your feedback. We report all feedback directly to each individual owner of the cabin. If you should decide to comeback and stay with us, for $20.00 more a night you can get a full cabin and these unit are worth every bit of the $20.00 upgrade. They have a full Kitchen , larger bath, dinning area, living room with sofa and entertainment consoled large screen TV and seperate bedroom, the sofa's are all sleepers to accomidate more sleeping options.

weather was terrible but had a great time. The locals were friendly and customer service was good. The small town feel and the mysteries of the Everglades made for a surreal getaway. Will be coming back when the weather improves to take that coveted kayak tour of the glades.

I would suggest a full sized cabin, for the space, full size kitchen, seperate large bath, livingroom and seperate bedroom and large screen porch this unit offers more space for the money.

Totally Misleading
The picture shows cabins facing a pier overlooking water -- well, that is true for those three cabins. When you arrive, however, you will see rows and rows of cabins, closely stacked together like a mobile home park and they face a parking lot (not even a yard with flowers, literally, a parking lot). There are other motels in Everglades City (may not be on Hotel.com, but check via Google) that would serve you better if you just want an inexpensive overnight.

Billing issues
At check in there was confusion about Expedia pre payment, I had to pay for the room again, Epedia charged me $349.80 and I had to pay the lodge the lodge$261.80 enable to check in. I have tried to contact Expedia Six times today about this and have been cut off each time

The only negative was the size of the shower stall. My husband and I are both tall and could not shower comfortably. The shower head was very low.

Somewhat Better than it looks
This is a very rustic cabin where you even have to take out your own garbage. The cabin we had was a duplex even tho we thought we'd have our own cabin. The linens are quite old but the location is great-- directly across the street from the Gulf Coast visitor center of the Everglades. The restaurant there had great old Florida fried seafood and was very convenient. It was worth staying for the head start it gave us for the day but pretend you're spending the night in a summer camp with tv and bring your own shampoo because they don't provide any. There was a small microwave and a refrigerator for our dinner leftovers. Also we wish we'd taken the 10000 island boat tour there at the visitor center. We heard a few days later how great it is. The ranger at the tiny visitor center also knew every inch of the Glades and so we had a fabulous trip through the park. Last thing: there was a cockroach in our bathroom but it is Florida!

Kleine houten hut.
Een kleine houten hut in Everglades City. Er staat een bed, een stapelbed, een klein keukentje en een badkamertje in. Je moet er niet veel van verwachten. Het is schoon en centraal in de Everglades gelegen. Je hebt er wel een auto nodig. Op loopafstand is er alleen een rondvaartboot en een klein vliegveldje. Met de auto is het goed te doen naar alle wandelroutes.

Bare minimum. Good for boat/kayak trips.
Cabin. Literally. Do not expect much. At least there no bedbugs, and the aircon was working. Also comes with working fridge and microwave. No wifi in the room.. Need to walk over to oysterhouse for complimentary wifi (just next door). Chose this place because planned to rent kayak to explore the creeks.

Directly across from Everglades National Park
We had cabin #13 - sleeps seven with the sofa bed. There were only two of us so it was much more than we needed, but would be fabulous for a return with family! Complete kitchen, which we didn't use as there is a great restaurant next door that gives you 10% off when you are staying in the cabins. The cabin was very clean, has an attached screened porch for pleasant evenings. In early april the mosquitoes aren't bad at all. This is a stand-alone cabin, not a hotel. Right on a canal with private boat dock, boat input & access to open water. For the sports fisherman with boat, this is the complete package.

Thanks for your review. So glad you enjoyed yourself at Glades Haven Cozy Cabins. Yes, we have a great restaurant, but sometimes it nice enjoying a meal in your own cabin. Our porches are great for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. We have lots of outdoor activities like kayaking and biking as well as an array of tour packages. We hope to see you and your family soon.

Fisherman Type Cabins
Everything was nice, lots of fishermen and activity on the weekends, otherwise very nice and relaxing, couple nice restaurants, boat tours, airboat rides, cabins are small wooden prefabed units, show some wear, but are clean, everything worked, air, etc. service was good, everyone helpful, very laid back.

Comfy Cabins
We were 2 adults 1 child. We were in Cabin 17 and it was perfect. Clean and comfortable. Didn't spend too much time in the cabin but it was enough for us. We stayed 2 nights. Will stay again next year.

Best option out of not many.
We've stayed here twice and will stay again. There aren't many options in Everglades City, and with two small children, having a house makes life much easier. The downsides are that you have to clean your own kitchen - not much of a problem, except when we arrived absolutely everything item of crockery, cutlery and glasses were completely filthy, used and put straight back in the cupboard so we had to scrub everything before we could use it! Only other complaint is the laundry - a total of $12 for a load. When I pointed out this was a bit steep, the response was "yeah, we don't really like people to use it!"

OK, just……...
It's more of a shed than a cabin really. Ours had one window and no veranda so was a bit dark. Others looked more inviting. Service provided by the local store was variable, one woman was nice, one was unusually unfriendly for the US. Overall it was serviceable, but only just. The Everglades themselves are a must see.
