This home offer stunning oceanfront views and a private beach access that is conveniently located minutes away from everything the island has to offer.

This home offers 2200+ square feet of fabulous living space. There is plenty of room for 1-3 large families to spread out in the five-bedroom home with extensive balconies which provide breathtaking ocean views.

Enjoy your morning coffee from the three balconies that overlook the panoramic Oceanview. The well-equipped spacious kitchen with an oversized pantry makes family dinners a breeze. A large dining room table for gathering or great for playing games. New gas grills and large picnic table offers lots of opportunities to take in the sounds, smells and views of the calming ocean.

There are beautiful ocean views from the main living spaces (kitchen, dining, and living room) and from three bedrooms. Our home offers upscale furnishings with sleeping arrangements to easily accommodate 12.

From the moment we walked in the door, I wanted to give Shore Thing 10 stars, but I was limited to only 5. I'm a serious cook, and this was a huge cook's kitchen! Very large fridge/freezer, then BONUS, a second brand-new huge fridge freezer on first level, next to huge over-sized washer and dryer! We had 7 adults, 1 toddler, and 4 dogs (each couple/adult has a dog), and this place was so spacious we were never near each other, unless intended :-) Before you pack ANYTHING special for your trip double-check the listing, and message Jessica. She was VERY quick to respond! I even packed my hand mixer, and it turns out there was already one in the kitchen. Don't buy sand toys like I did. They're already there... and all toddler stuff is already there. We brought a truckload of things that were already at the house. Gorgeous diningroom table that would comfortably hold 12 and two huge couches of equal capacity. No old, hot, splintery wood outside - all decks, stairs, and walkways were new Trex and rails were white Poly-coated. Beautiful, huge, warm pool (for fee) with stunning light show in the water at night. Perfect for actually swimming and for the toddler (NC waves can be dangerous!) Great neighborhood for walking our dogs too, and a fantastic playground for our toddler a mile from the property. We all had a great time! PS, picked up and dropped of adult kids randomly during our 10 day stay, and both airports were an easy less-than-1-hour drive from the house.

The house was very dirty and so were the linens. The carpets were stained and sticky, the rug in the living area as well. The banisters had a thick layer of sticky, dirty, something. There was mildew (we hope it wasn’t mold) on some of the bathroom ceilings. Some towels were dirty and some linens looked like they simply had not been changed with clean ones. The host was responsive at first and got us in touch with the property manager quickly. He treated the “mildew” the next day and we got new towels the first night. We requested the cleaners to come back, were told the would but they never did. The host did not respond to us past the first night however the property manager was very responsive, he was great actually. We did spend first evening and the next 1/2 day buying cleaning supplies, cleaning and washing towels/linens. The house was fine other than of this. The outdoor area was perfect (back deck, pool and walkway)—clearly the owners put a lot of time, money and effort into that.If it weren’t for the lack of cleanliness, we would have loved the house.

Great location and perfect property for extended family! We really enjoyed having the pool for the days the ocean was too rough to swim in. A plus was we were able to bring our dog with us. Host was very communicative and check in/check out was a breeze. We would stay here again and highly recommend this vacation home!

Check-in process was easy, great communication with owners. Kitchen was well equipped with dishes, glassware, cookware, etc. Lots of seating and storage. Liked the convenience of having both a gas and charcoal grill and two refrigerators. Home was well stocked with beach/pool toys, chairs, etc. Outdoor showers were a plus. Great beach access with gorgeous views.

Spring Break

We had a wonderful stay here with plenty of room for 7adults and 2 kids. The house was roomy and clean with beautiful views, the heated pool was a wonderful addition! Adults and kids alike enjoyed it all!

Annual Family Trip

We booked Shore Thing for our annual family vacation however our host quickly messaged and informed us there was maintenance scheduled for the time of our stay and offered us another property owned by them, SeaGlass East. We loved the property. It matched the listing. Communication was great, lots of provided extras.

Summer 2024

The property was a great fit for our extended family. Great location with easy beach access. Large enough to accommodate those adults who needed to "work" a few hours without interruption. The pool was a bonus and enjoyed by all. The home was well supplied with beach chars, shibumi, pool chairs, floats and pool noodles. Kitchen was clean, well stocked with dishes, appliances, etc. and second refrigerator was helpful. Beds were comfortable and overall home was clean. Hosts were accommodating and communicated promptly.

Beach week success!

Great location on Emerald Isle. House was very comfortable for our extended family vacation, and the host was wonderfully responsive to our questions and quick to resolve a few issues that came up. Highly recommend A Shore Thing!

Spacious beachfront house

Beautiful beachfront place with a pool. Most ammenities available for kids to adults. Disappointed that we paid extra for a heated pool and they had mechanical problems and we couldn't use it for a lot of days. Overall, nice area, lots to do, or just relax!

Family Beach Vacation

We were 6 adults and 4 children - 1, 3, 4, 6 years old. The family had a wonderful time. The house is right on the ocean and the pool was an added bonus, especially for the young ones. I would have liked the common areas (living room and kitchen ) to be upstairs. You cannot see much of the ocean and beach from the kitchen and living room areas. There was plenty of space for our family. Jessica provided Shumani shade, beach chairs and beach toys. This is our second family trip to Emerald Isle. There is plenty to do if you want to get away from the beach for a while. We visited the Aquarium, Water Park,Mac Daddy’s arcade, Prof Hackers - mini golf, bumper boats, and go carts. There was something for everyone. You could do a lot or nothing at all. Great time had by all. We shall return.

Great family vacation spot

We had a lovely time at this house on Emerald Isle. The property was well equipped with everything we could want or need. We cooked most of our meals at home, enjoyed a couple of dinners out, and mostly just enjoyed the beach (with excursions for mini golf, the aquarium, and Fort Macon). We just loved being right on the ocean. The owners were responsive and helpful whenever we had a question or need. Definitely recommend this place.
