Absolutely exquisite B&B and attentive hosts, we were so impressed! Attention to detail, warmth, delicious breakfast in the sunlit tea room, super comfortable bed, lovely jacuzzi, gorgeous grounds, and short hiking paths. Overall so happy with our experience. We will be back!

It was a beautiful old property with plenty of walkable paths. The breakfasts each morning were delicious and my husband and I loved sitting on the expansive porch. Would definitely come back if we're in this neck of the woods again!

Not what we expected
Elk Forge B&B was chosen due to us having a wedding in the area. We normally prefer B&B’s and with looking at the ratings and seeing pictures, we were a bit surprised once inside. The outdoor area seemed okay but the Chesapeake room that we were assigned was not pleasing. I said it’s probably b/c we booked on hotels.com and not directly because the good reviews did not match the cleanliness or condition of the room. On our way up to the 3rd floor, there were dead bugs on the floors and the windowsills. Granted, we all might have stink bugs but these dead bugs and a lot of them were unsightly. Our room, including the condition of the door and the lock were in need of some updating. There were also stink bugs and lady bugs and a lot of them in our room. The bed and sheets were comfortable, thank goodness and breakfast was lovely. We do understand historic, etc. but this seemed beyond the need of updating.

Owner Harry had a way of making sure we were enjoying our stay, wanting to help us at any time yet never being intrusive. There were many places to venture to from Elkton Forge B&B. A great place to also just relax in on our rainy Saturday. The breakfasts were delicious!

The Inn is beautiful! Old and charming, well kept, clean and comfortable. Check in and out was super easy and the staff was available but absolutely not intrusive.

European style getaway
So charming and beautiful. Like a European B&B experience with morning breakfast, tea room and lovely gardens. The room was well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The best night of sleep I’ve had in weeks!

Quaint & Personal
Look, if you like modern settings with all the amenities and pampering, this may not be the place for you. It is a house that was built with field stone; hardwood inlaid floors, and awesome period molding & furniture. No modern place will ever feel like this. It is quaint and personal. There are places to sit and contemplate everywhere. It is an opportunity to stay in a place that feels like home but away from home. The grounds and area are absolutely beautiful. What a refreshing change from a Hotel!

Elkton B&B for a local Wedding
Very friendly staff and nice room. We did not spend a lot of time in the B&B but the bed was comfortable and bathroom as clean with toiletries provided. Morning breakfast was good as well.

The building and location is amazing. The service was excellent. The bed and sheets were unreasonably good. We actually looked up the brand so we can try and get some similar for ourselves. Breakfast was great. We told the owner that the other locations we stayed at could learn a lot just by staying at Elk Forge for a night.

Absolutely loved our stay! It has such charming atmosphere and characteristics to the house. The jetted tub was amazing and water was surprisingly hot soon as I turned it on. Breakfast was hands down amazing with a beautiful view of the landscape and sunrise. Definitely a nice break from normal hotels and it had such a home like vibe. We also think this place is a potential wedding venue for us! Of course it had its quirks but honestly for how old it wasn’t bad! Also loved that it’s self checkin and how convenient that it was placed out for whenever you check in!

We’ll worth the $$$ and stay.
Excellent experience. The proprietor, Harry, is a great guys and strives to make your stay very comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was awesome with plenty of variety. Make sure you mention either a hot tub Jacuzzi or a deep soaking tube. Their is a difference.

Bad honeymoon stay
Disappointing stay. I contacted weeks ahead of time to let them know that our one night stay was our honeymoon, and said if they could put any extra care into making the room special for us, we would really really appreciate it. (Btw the room we booked was the fanciest, most expensive room they offer- the Longwood suite). I figured maybe they would leave a lil bottle of champagne or a note or rose petals (like the multiple photos they advertise of those things). Not only did they not do anything at all to make the room or stay special in any way shape or form, they didn’t even clean it. Dead bugs everywhere. Brown stuff splattered on the walls, doors, and window blinds. Mold on the floors. Multiple light bulbs out. The bath water is literally urine yellow- but they left a note that says to ignore the “tea colored” water, and that people pay extra money to have “mineral” baths like that. Plus there are NO employees or staff there to greet you or explain how to find your room. It’s all self service (a random guest had to help us). I usually appreciate contact free things as a major introvert- but the lack of any kind of personal attention or care during the stay was really disappointing.
