Nice B&B with beautiful setting looking out on ocean. Breakfast was great. Dinner was mixed. One appetizer and entree were excellent. The other appetizer and entree were so-so. (Onion soup came with cheese not melted but scorched, and pork entree was overcooked, dry, and tough.). Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Amazing location with unbeatable view of a hidden cove on the Pacific Ocean, so well taking care by great Owner’s & personnel’s, with an excellent food from the cook Victor who of course loves his job: what can be better on this earth??? 😉👍

Beautiful stay in Elk
We had a wonderful stay. Staff was very nice, helpful, relaxed and knowledgeable. They were very enthusiastic. Dinner and breakfast were excellent in a small intimate setting. The hotel is historic and has amazing views, gardens and location in Elk.

Great for that intimate secluded get a away. Far from hustle bustle of town, left alone while at the Inn. Great private beach access, garden was well kept and food was above standard. Rooms were great but could use minor TLC, poor window function and single ply toilet paper were a couple inconveniences that seemed out of place with the rest of the experience.

Do not go there, we want it for our very own.
Melissa is the best friend/owner/manager whom we have ever met. The rooms were elegant and the restaurant rivals anything nearby or even France.

Great scenic location!
Property, location and staff are top notch! Our accommodations were a disaster, however, as we reserved the last available room- Swallows Nest- very tiny - an oversized broom closet, but the worst was the bed where the upper half of the mattress sloped down and my spouse and I did not experience a good night’s sleep.

Thanks for your reviews.We always tell guests when they book direct with us and also the information is there on our website that this room is very small .But this fact gets ignored .Our good rooms are in the price range of $500 range and this one is $200 range.

This place has lots of character and has a beautiful view, very kind staff, a semi private beach and bigtime coziness factor. I do think the room, parking and food was overpriced though. The linens and room cleanliness could have been a bit more hotel-like. Would come back if prices were more reasonable.

Enjoyed being able to arrive, spend an hour just sitting on the beach unwinding, then it was so easy to just go downstairs for an excellent dinner. In the morning having room service breakfast was so lovely! Staff was very friendly, place is remote, which is great if you don't mind being isolated in a resort!

Nice place to stay
The service was excellent and very friendly. The room was a little rough, door was difficult to open, close and lock, not much room to move around, but fine for a single night's stay. The room was very clean and included wine and goodies. Breakfast was nice, sign of the times, in the room because of Covid. And the spa (massage) was also closed. Be prepared for a curvy drive to Mendincino.

Absolutely beautiful location, very quiet and serene. The grounds are well-kept and overall the building and rooms are in good shape. We arrived at the property at around 8PM and were asked if we wanted dinner. We had a late lunch so we weren't starving but thought it would be nice to eat since it was getting a little late. We were shown to our seats and immediately given a little appetizer, which we thought was a nice gesture. Within in just a few minutes before I was even finished with this appetizer, the staff came to take it away. It was then the server let us know this was a Prix Fixe meal and asked what entree we wanted. Two more appetizers came one after the other. We couldn't have been there for more that 10 minutes by this point, I couldn't understand why this was such a rushed meal...never experienced anything like this, it was very off putting. Something must have been going on where they were in a hurry. The entree was out within 20 minutes of sitting down. Everything was so rushed and it was a shame because we came to this property to slow down and relax. Then got a bill for $49 ea. Not overpriced since the food was good, but it would have been nice to a) be told this was a Prix Fixe meal and b) the price before sitting down. Was a very strange dining experience.

We take full responsibility for the lack of service standard .It is not our usual way of serving dinner.We failed to communicate to you on checking in at 8PM that it is a prefixed menu and the seating closes at 7.30PM.We did rush to ensure that kitchen closes in time and staff is there at 6am next morning for the breakfast.We are extremely sorry for that.Hope you will come back to see the real service standard.

This is the second we stay at this Inn and i can't thank enough Josh and Amy ( the inn keepers ) for their hospitality and friendliness. Our room had spectacular views (Surfsong cabin). It was a piece of heaven on earth! Clean and spacious room and bathroom, super comfy bed, wide window seat to just sit and enjoy the picture perfect view. Felt like we were in the middle of a postcard.
