The house was absolutely magnificent, with every detail meticulously crafted however there were issues. The artwork, finishes, and decorating were all spot on perfect, and the “Studio 55” branding added a touch of elegance. Now the bad news: First, the batteries in the digital locks kept dying, locking us in and out of areas. No remotes for TV or fireplace had working batteries either. Easily remedied with a trip to the store. Then we started to cook. On Day 1, the propane was empty. We spent two and a half out of three days unable to cook on the stove, forcing us to resort to cooking in the snow on a barbecue grill and a small electric griddle..for 12 people. With no heat and not being able to shower, some of our guests packed up and went home. We couldn’t shower, wash dishes or use the propane fire place, all of which which was just unacceptable. While the house itself is magnificent, the owner’s negligence in not filling the propane tanks in 8 degree weather was a major setback. Despite our three-day stay, which included a party of twelve with elaborate meal plans, we were left feeling cold and uncomfortable. We arrived Thursday, propane came Saturday at 3pm. The owner refunded us for what amounted to LESS THAN THE COST OF 1 DAY rental fee.We made the best of it but this was entirely the owner’s negligence. Three months of planning had led us to three days of anxiety, upset, changing plans and roughing it in this magnificent house.
