6/10 – Grei

There was no staff on-site so I had to call the company because my room entry code was incorrect. Luckily, an employee at the bar on the first floor helped me out. There was no parking on-site but there was a safe public parking ramp across the street which was relatively easy to use. The room was average--nice sheets and pillows and towels. A lot of slapdash maintenance, things like loose lamp switches/lights, shower handles loose and not holding the sprayer, etc. It just made the room feel cheap. It's a cool historic building but that also means, at least on the second level, the floors were very loud and I could hear everyone coming and going all night. This was also not helped by only a thin glass door barrier between the room and the hallway. There was also noise in the evening from the bar on the first floor. There was supposed to be a sauna on the first floor but it looked like some renovations were going on so I didn't find it. Overall, it was an average experience but it does have potential with the right ownership. Duluth is gorgeous but this will be my one and only stay at this hotel.
