You enter via a patio door into a large open plan area, containing the lounge, dining area & kitchen , the stairs lead from the kitchen to the first floor which has a double bed in room 1 + bed settee, three singles in room 2 & a set of bunks in room 3.

Sleeps up to 7 + baby. In the bathroom there is a combined bath/ shower and a pedestal sink, the w/c is separate with a hand sink, both are the ground floor. The total floor area is 96 mtrs sq approx. There is a small garden/patio area, with garden furniture & a Bbq.

Our countryside property offers good quality family accommodation in a restored traditional French gite complex in the Charente-maritime region of in the hamlet of La Ville Aux Moines, we benefit from stunning views during the summer months surrounded by sunflower fields and yet only 35 minutes from the beech and the historic port of La Rochelle.

As owners, we live on site in our lovingly restored French manor house. We have refurbished the outlying buildings into well appointed dwellings that are now available for holiday rental.

We have a fantastic , fully tiled, safety fenced swimming pool (12 x 8 mtrs) – which has a separate ‘splash’ pool (6 x 5 mtrs) for young ones, swimming pools are open between May and September.
A half acre garden contains children’s swings , a play fort, badminton & lawn tennis, a football net, a very large safety netted trampoline,and there is also a games room with table tennis and pool & table football. We have lots of bikes including child seats & safety helmets.

In short we have everything you need for the perfect holiday. Then, of course, for the more adventurous, there is all that Charente-maritime has to offer as well!

The village of Villeneuve La Comtesse is just 2 miles away, with amenities which include a bakery, post office, mini market.

There is a choice of quality supermarkets, bars, restaurants, swimming pools and banks in Surgeres (15 mins) or St Jean D’angely (15 mins).

We are 40 minutes from the historic port of La Rochelle on the west coast of France.

The beaches of Ile de re, Ile d’Oleron La Rochelle, Chatelaillon & Royan are nearby. Venise verte and Benon wood. Cognac, Puy du Fou, Saintes, La Palmyre zoo, and Futuroscope at Poitiers are all within easy reach.

There are numerous Chateaux in the area open to visitors.

How to travel to these gite holidays in France:

By Air: Low cost flights to La Rochelle, Limoges, Poitiers and Bordeaux.

By Rail: The Tgv stops at Niort or Surgeres. Car hire is available at both locations. (europcar)

By Sea: The channel ports St Malo in three and a half hours, Caen and Le Havre in five hours and Cherbourg in about five and a half hours. All these ports operate overnight ferries where you can take a cabin, have a meal and watch a film, enjoy live music and even cabaret acts. For those coming by Eurostar, Calais is 7 hours away.

This is a gite complex. There are a total of 9 gites. Each gite has its own private space. There is a large 7 x 12 meter shared swimming pool, and separate children's splash pool and large park garden, swimming pools are open between May and September

During high season our complex is very much suited to families. Our pool and park gardens the perfect location for children and families to meet up and . Out side high season our complex is a beautiful rural retreat perfect for couples looking for a weekend/week get away.
