Corcovado national park is located on the Osa peninsula in Costa Rica. It is the country's biggest and most prestigious national park and National Geographic has called it "the most biologically intense place on Earth in terms of biodiversity". However, all these facts make it a really expensive place to explore. But there are still options for backpackers. We stopped at this beautiful place for a short lunch brake on our days hike from Drake Bay to the park.

«This lovely hotel, in the tiny, unpretentious village of Drake Bay, was wonderful. I am an amateur wildlife photographer. The manager gave me Room 1, with an enormous window that looks out onto a guarumo tree. In this tree arrived, in turn, a toucan, a pair of aracaris, tanagers, tityrus, caracaras, golden-naped woodpeckers, multiple iguanas, hummingbirds - it was simply incredible. «It was an awesome arrival. We expected a fantastic lobby , but it was lovelier than even on the internet. Very friendly staff, exzellent services, very good choices of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then the unexpected jungle pathway over bridges and walkways to the separate lodges. Our lodge Marvilla was wonderfull with a huge outdoor bathroom in the middle of the jungle.
