Beautiful Indian Lake cottage in a quiet neighborhood, our place is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It is the perfect place for golfing, boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming! In the winter, you can explore snowmobile trails and enjoy ice fishing. Bring your boat, jet ski, canoe, or kayak and enjoy the lake! It is just 5 minutes from downtown Dowagiac where you can enjoy nice restaurants. For golf lovers, it is just 2 minutes from Indian Lake Hills Golf Course.

This is a cozy cottage in a rustic style, across from Lakeview Avenue, on top of a little hill in front of Indian Lake. It has been recently renovated for the comfort and safety of our guests! It is a quiet but yet enjoyable place to stay.
The deck is a shared space for all apartments.

Gracious hosts!

Prior to our arrival, there had been bad storms which knocked out the power/water for this property. We informed the host as soon as this was discovered and they worked diligently to help resolve this issue. We appreciate their kindness and great communication!

No stars for you! I have pics!

Upon arrival, there was no internet/cell connection to open text with info to access door code; the room had a layer of grime on the fridge top, windows and a thin layer of dust everywhere. Main room smelled like wet dog (no pets was listed) and the window sashes were chewed up by a dog. Cobwebs lined the bathroom ceiling; linens/bedding smelled like stale rancid body oils. sSeptic smell backed up when using sink because they removed the state building code required p trap under sink (health code violation).Practically no cookware AND dishes were dirty.Had to hand wash them and set to dry on stove because there was no dish rack or handtowel for drying dishes.Apolstery was stained on kitchen chairs. Cold air intake to furnace/hot water heater WAS LOADED WITH DUST. pribably had a dirty forced air furnace fikter too. No fire extinguisher or carbon monoxide detector, but the did have a smoke detector for when oven/stove, not fitted properly for fuel type, began to off gas and triggered the smoke detector. One clorox wipe to clean up, DIRTY FLOORS, no hand soap, AND according to my daughter the towels smelled like balls (how does she know???)And the BEST part, the tv turned on but batteries were dead in remote and the electronic door lock so i had to rob my flashlight just to turn off the tv and we could not secure our space. I should have known something was wrong when we entered and the furnace was blasting at 72 and the glade plug-in was asthma triggering.

Nature under the kitchen cabinets!

First, I want to say that although I had a bad experience and left right away, the host was quick to respond, respectful, and refunded my reservation. Unfortunately, the property has roaches. The host is aware and said they will get an exterminator to handle the infestation. While I was shocked to see them and left the property immediately, I do feel that if the host is able to clean and resolve the issue, it could be an ok place to stay. You get what you pay for. Its an older 4-plex and assuming if one room has them, the others have them. Nothing special but a place to lay your head...but not with roaches. My review is simply to add a timeline of when I was at the property and if the issue has been resolved since. My reservation was booked for 09/06/24 apt B.
