Summary:
Chateau d’Vine is a charming Victorian farmhouse offering a warm blend of historic character, tasteful décor, and modern comfort. With multiple bedrooms, three seasonal cottages (available from Memorial Day weekend until Halloween), and a dedicated rec room, it’s ideal for families, retreats, groups, and couples. Guests love unwinding in the hot tub, gathering around the fire pit, or exploring the nearby towns of Saugatuck and Douglas. You'll be minutes from beaches, shops, wineries, and trails.
The Space:
Built in the 1870s by William Graham Tisdale, Chateau d’Vine offers a unique stay filled with Victorian touches, wood trim, artistic accents, and thoughtful amenities.
On the main level of the main house, the spacious master bedroom has a king bed, a small table and chairs for two, a library area with loveseat sofa bed, and a spacious ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. This space is perfect for quiet moments away from the group and for those with limited mobility who need a little extra room. (please note, there are a couple steps up onto the home’s spacious front porch.)
The second main level bedroom features a Queen bed and ensuite with shower/tub combo and views of the harbor and marshland where wildlife make themselves at home. The living area has a TV and an electric fireplace, is open to the attached dining room, and is perfect for shared meals. Continue on to the fully equipped kitchen with coffee station, screened porch with outdoor dining table, and access to the spacious lawns where there is an additional patio dining table and chairs.
Upstairs, guests will find three additional bedrooms, including a bunk room with bonus trundle bed, a private Queen size bedroom, a full shared hall bath with shower and tub combo, and a large second master suite with a sitting room with sofa bed and chair, a two person table to enjoy quiet morning coffee with views, and an ensuite bath with walk-in shower, claw foot tub and towel warmer. This spacious suite offers ample space to enjoy privacy and quiet time when needed.
Three charmingly rustic cottages (available May-October) add even more flexibility, each with its own deck to enjoy the wetland views. Each cottage features an open bedroom space, kitchenette (with mini fridge, microwave and Keurig), private bath with walk in shower, and a sitting area. Two cottages also offer sofa sleepers. A dedicated recreation room is located in the converted detached garage and offers a TV area, poker and card tables, and more than 100 board games along with an assortment of DVDs.
Outdoors, relax in the hot tub overlooking expansive natural wetlands, enjoy lawn games, relax on the spacious front porch, fire up the grill for dinner, gather around the bonfire for s’mores, or shoot some hoops in the driveway.
