«We had an absoloutely wonderful two night stay with our toddler at Cave Auger. The upstairs family apartment was perfect for us , and we were particularly grateful for the excellent air con during one of the heatwaves earlier this year. The pool was great - warm and immaculately clean. Stéphane was the most welcoming host - and we particularly enjoyed the dinner on the terrace that was all local produce, and it came with our own little barrel of delicious wine. Breakfast similarly ...

«Great location, inside the Fontevraud Abbey, albeit a long way from the parking to the reception. Even if they offered transport to and from, it was not always available. The hotel appeared new, and was clean and fancy. Huge drawback in this hot summer was the lack of real A/C, only a noisy portable unit which added to sleeping problem. Helpful staff, not very proficient in english though. The abbey itself was huge, charming and interesting, alas in contrast to the local village. The ...

«Nice owners. Pleasant breakfast. Great property. Nice pool. Very helpful staff. Had a great time»

«Lovely spot, staff excellent, homemade, organic and locally sourced breakfast. Lacked an evening restaurant and options in Chinon in October were a little limited as off season. Great location to explore Chinon wines and Cremant near Saumur. Fontevraud-l’Abbaye was an interesting place to visit.»

«Clean, convenient parking, friendly and helpful staff.»

«Many things were not acceptable in regards to our room. The windows did not open fully due to the curtains blocking them and it was stifling hot. and when we tried to manipulate them, we were afraid they would break. The daily housekeeping was unacceptable - coffee cups were left dirty in the room, the bathroom didn't appear to have been cleaned at all, and in the bathroom the windows did not shut properly. The water from the shower went all over the floor. In the middle of our stay, we found a ...

«Situated in village square with parking in front of hotel, access to our room on floor 2 was a bit of a climb, especially as tge temperature was in tge upper 30s! The ambience of the Excellent Evening meal in rear courtyard was somewhat spoilt by noisy children in adjoining garden using a swimming pool( understandable in thus heat ?) Despite a fan being provided, temperature in room was quite uncomfortable. It really needed aircon because Opening window made traffic noise a problem. Breakfast ...
