Welcome to your new favorite Black Hills cabin just outside of Deadwood, SD known as The Deadwood Barn Lodge. This unique home-away-from-home is sure to give you that one-of-a-kind vacation experience when visiting. Located in the heart of the Northern Hills recreational corridor and close to main street Deadwood, you'll enjoy the convenience to things like ATV and snowmobile trails, skiing/snowboarding at Terry Peak, hiking and fishing, and playing table games at a local casino! It's a great place to just kick your feet up by one of the two indoor/outdoor fireplaces and enjoy some R&R as well. Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower and more are all also within a 1 hour drive from the cabin making it a great centralized location to many local attractions. Whether you're visiting to enjoy an adventure filled vacation, some local National Parks, or just a weekend away, The Deadwood Barn Lodge is sure to make for a memorable experience.

After days enjoying some local Deadwood attractions, trail riding, or visiting the natural beauty of the area, coming home to this wonderful cabin is sure to be a favorite part of your vacation. Located on a nice 5 acre lot, you'll never forget watching the wildlife roam across the land or viewing the starry skies from the hot tub. With 5,000 sq. ft. and a larger 3 car garage, you'll have plenty of room to enjoy your company and have room for those ATVs, snowmobiles and vehicles you plan to bring. The open living, dining, and kitchen area on the main level is filled with windows and a beautiful rock indoor/outdoor fireplace, larger kitchen island, dining table and a spacious kitchen perfect for entertaining. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for your cooking needs during your vacation. There's a large deck leading off the main level dining area that has an amazing view of the meadow below. There's also DirectTV on multiple TVs and WIFI at the cabin. Laundry is conveniently located on the main floor along with one of the bedrooms.

The upper level has 3 full bedrooms which includes the master bedroom with a great view of the meadow below. The lower-level has a nice seating area with recliners, another indoor/outdoor fireplace and a game and bar area. The built-in bar is a perfect place to entertain your guests and there's a poker table along with foosball next to the bar. There's a walk out onto the lower level patio where the hot tub is located and a fire pit out in the yard away from the cabin. There's also a kid' play set in the yard making it a great option for your whole family! There's one bedroom on the lower level as well. Finally, there's a newly added loft above the garage complete with a queen bed, bunk bed and private bathroom. Whether you're visiting to connect with family and friends, enjoy some nightlife in Deadwood, or some adventure filled trail riding, a stay at The Deadwood Barn Lodge will surely give you lasting memories for years to come.

Great location and house layout, but …

The outside of the house looked just like it did in photos. There seem to be discrepancies between what one description says versus other “rules” printed and displayed in the house. One says no pets allowed inside the home, another says no pets permitted at all, even though there’s a kennel with a pet door leading into the garage. Sliding screen doors didn’t work well, if they were there at all. The tv on the deck was removed. One of the chairs on the deck broke after my brother in law moved it and sat in it, and there were already two other similar chairs broken in the garage, so I hope they don’t expect me to pay for that. There were multiple can lights hanging loose, 1/2 the lights on the upper deck didn’t work, and there were multiple knobs missing from closet doors, as well as a broken towel rack in the king bedroom. The hot water for showers never got hot enough, and seemed to run out far too quickly, especially with 15 people staying there! Now, we get to cleanliness of the property… which was lacking. The grill was so filthy and greasy, we ended up having to cook burgers on the stove. Living room ceiling fan was FILTHY, dusty stair rail, and ledge above living room, cobwebs in every corner, dirt under every rug in front of sliding doors, and candy wrapper pieces in multiple rooms. We had a great time there, but the property needs some attention to cleanliness.

Deadwood Barn Cabin

With six bedrooms and five bathrooms it was perfect for our group. House was beautiful and well maintained. Everything we needed for our five day stay was there. We spent very little time at the house during the day. The long gravel road was not too bad for the five motorcycles but the driveway to the concrete in front of the garage was a little tricky after a heavey rain. The garage was perfect for motorcycle storage at night. Overall i would not hesitate to book another week in this house. We had a great time. Butch Melhorn.

Peaceful

Great, peaceful location! Beds/bathrooms/kitchen were very clean and comfortable. A little dusty and some dirty windows but that didn’t bother us. Had to space out showers to keep hot water. Overall a great experience and we would definitely go back. Great for a families. Kids loved the outdoor yard and play area. Budi was great to work with. Very accommodating and always responded in a timely manner.

Wonderful place for big family

Our 4 adult children and their spouses and kids met for Thanksgiving. We had lots of space for our family of 15. We were thankful for the Christmas tree already put up and decorated since we also had our Christmas gift exchange. The kitchen was stocked with 2 crockpots, a hand mixer, a griddle and everything we needed for big family meals. There were even several items in the pantry that came in handy (plastic wrap, aluminum foil, baggies, vegetable oil, coffee filters, plastic silverware and more). We used the outdoor fireplace a lot and it gave off a nice amount of heat for 30 degree evenings. We really liked the views of the trees and landscape that could be seen from the main living areas since the backside of the lodge house was all windows. The bedrooms were big and the rocking chair was appreciated in the main floor bedroom for rocking the little one to sleep. It was also nice that we could get 3 vehicles in the garage. Laundry worked well. Extra table and chairs stored in the laundry room was appreciated too as we made one long table for dining and had plenty of room for it. There was plenty of pantry and fridge space for all our groceries. Fun toys for kids in the basement. Overall, this place worked very well for us and our kids were talking about wanting to stay here again for family gatherings. Great communication with property manager too. We made wonderful memories here!

Awesome Lodge!

The lodge was awesome! We all really enjoyed all the amenities and space the place had to offer. From the bedrooms, to the living rooms, to the decks, we enjoyed being able to gather and socialize in such a great place. We also enjoyed seeing deer, turkey and being away from the city. Thanks again!

The Barn

The house is very well built, no squeaky floors or issues. The view from the deck is very nice, deer and turkeys were seen everyday. Lots of room for our family of 11 to sleep and eat. The kitchen is well stocked. It was not as clean as it should have been since I was told the cleaning crew had just been there (and with the cleaning fee shouldnt the house be clean before I arrive, not just after?). There were no extra garbage bags, kleenex, soap bottles in the bathrooms were almost empty (cleaning crew did not refill), toilet paper, dishwashing soap etc so we bought some. Contact the owner if that happens to you, they said they would have brought us some (but shouldnt it have already been there?). Cell service is one or two bars, and Wi-Fi was not working well. Especially if the TV was on, the wi-fi crawled. Several people had to work while there and it was difficult. The wi-fi speed definitely needs increased. We have been coming to the Hills for our family vacations for 8+ years and always stay at a different house, we would come stay at this one again if the wi-fi issue was fixed. Plenty of parking, easy to find, good location for the Deadwood side of the Hills.

Lovely lodge

This was a lovely lodge. It is quite accommodating for a large group. Our family enjoyed it very much. We do recommend you upgrade the kitchen pots and pans and cooking essentials. The stuff that is there is very worn out and there are a lot of things missing. It was a bit challenging to cook for a large group with a kitchen that had only enough to cook for a small group. Also, I don’t know whether it was my misunderstanding or what but I was under the impression by reading the listing that it was a wood fireplace on two different levels. They were actually gas fireplaces. I was quite disappointed as we were looking forward to real wood fireplace. The house is very easy to get to and we saw quite a bit of natural wildlife while we were there. It is super super close to downtown deadwood so that was a plus for us as we love deadwood. We would definitely rent from these folks again if we ever have another large group in the future. We truly enjoyed the game room and family time we had down there playing poker till three or 4 o’clock in the morning. I do suggest getting a sound bar for the TV in the main living area the one off the kitchen. Other than that I can’t complain! There were a lot of things left over I guess from prior guests or maybe the people that owned the house that we were able to use. In turn we left a lot of things for future people to use such as flour eggs bacon mayonnaise etc. things that we can’t take on a plane. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family! We made so many memories there that we will never forget. Most especially the fact that Santa found our eight year old grandson in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He was quite impressed!

Wooded retreat

Deadwood Barn Lodge

This property was everything that was advertised. Close to Deadwood and also only an hour away from Rapid City. There was lots of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. We will definitely recommend this VRBO to any of our peeps that will be heading this way. It was a perfect location for our time together and we are so glad we booked it!
