Great views Central location Many extras~The perfect Canaan Valley Base Camp!

Our staff loves this one! One of our most popular rental homes, Base Camp is open for business and sure to delight vacationers young and old. Upstairs or downstairs, beautiful views are provided on every floor. Base Camp is plenty "cushy" with king beds only, lots of TV's, WIFI, and a wet bar. Step outside to enjoy the firepit, gas grill and plenty more views! The well-equipped kitchen is sure to satisfy even the fussiest chef and the game room with air hockey, shuffleboard and a large TV will keep the gang busy while the kitchen magic happens! Base Camp is walking distance to a delightful petting zoo and horseback riding at Mountain Trail Rides! It is a quick drive to Canaan Resort's pristine golf course and outdoor pool for summer fun. In winter you cannot lodge any closer to White Grass or the slopes at Canaan and it is a short, easy drive to Timberline Mountain! Plan early. Base Camp is sure to become your favorite! Well behaved dogs are welcome with an additional fee.

This property worked great for us- a group of 7 and a dog. All bedrooms are nice (king bed, private bathroom except one be with own bathroom outside of the room); great hang out areas (main LV, loft has a cozy reading/work space, and basement has a large screen tv and play area). This house works really well for big groups- and is stocked really well with cookware, cutlery and ceramic dishes. Location is excellent. We would go back in a heart beat! Also, the property management was exceptionally responsive to any of the very minor needs we had while we were there. 5 Only suggestion would be to upgrade tv in main living room for easier streaming options

New construction with beautiful reclaimed furniture and features. One bedroom in the loft, one in the first floor/basement, two on the main floor. Scenery from the living room/dining area is spectacular.

Perfect ski weekend

We wanted to be near Timberline so we can ski all weekend. Super close to Timberline and easy access, great roomy cabin with beautiful views. We loved it.

First trip to Canaan

We spend every summer in WV but this was our first time visiting this part of the state and we are so glad we picked Base Camp to stay while we explored the area. The location was perfect, the house was just as shown and we will definitely be back. The only downside is that we didn’t stay longer.

Ideal spring break

This house really was the perfect base camp for our sprint break adventures in Canaan. It had everything two adults, three teen boys, and a dog could need. The boys enjoyed the basement games and hooked up a laptop to play games and watch movies (byo HDMI). We spent most of our time hiking or biking and the location was perfect for going to the big destinations-Dolly Sods, Blackwater Falls, Seneca Rocks. But we also found very nice trails off Freeman Road. Canaan Valley resort also had nice mountain biking trails. The house was pristine and had everything we needed- sheets, towels, blankets, pillows, fans. The kitchen was fully stocked but we did hit Davis for extra paper towels and foil. The grill worked well and just needed a little cleaning before use. The house is in a nice, new development with other houses nearby but it still felt private. The view of the horses and mountains in the back was superb. Can't wait to come back!

Excellent Getaway

Base Camp was the perfect venue for our annual Dad-Daughter ski trip (3 dads, 3 teen daughters). The place was well appointed, very clean, great amenities and a gorgeous view! 5 stars!

Cozy spacious cabin, amazing mountain views, nearby nature

The cabin was perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids - more than enough room and the beds were so comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Basement lounge area games were a lot of fun. Mountain and valley view from the deck was inspiring. Excellent parks within a 15 - 40 minute drive: Blackwater Falls, Monongahela & Dolly Sods, and more.

Mountain Mansion

Our two families of four found this property to be perfect! The kids (ages 12-15) started calling it our “Mountain Mansion” because there was so much space. Gorgeous views, extremely clean, plenty of cozy blankets and places to relax made this the perfect getaway home for us. Two washer/dryers was an awesome amenity for our big family.

Canaan Valley Base Camp

Cabin was centrally located for our far flung family. Plenty of room with very comfortable beds. Nice layout in the cabin and terrific views all around. Several nice places to hike in the vicinity including blackwater falls & Canaan valley state parks. Really enjoyed the stay.

Gorgeous property

Great property, location, layout and amazing views. Fully stocked kitchen, 2 sets of washers/dryers, throw blankets in the closets, games to play. Super close to large park and tons of hiking trails. Beautiful scenery!! Major grocery is 30 plus minutes away, but smaller convenience stores are maybe 10 minutes. Book this property, you won’t be disappointed.

Breathtaking!

This property was so amazing and became part of our vacation experience in Canaan Valley. There was so much thought and detail that went into designing this house - as guests we felt very special that someone thought that much into making our trip wonderful. The views are spectacular - the location is perfectly situated between Canaan Valley and Timberline - the beds AND pillows were so incredibly comfortable - the décor in the home was beautiful - the kitchen was well stocked - and the peaceful mornings watching the horses run in the pasture behind the house was an added unexpected bonus. I can't say enough and I thank the home owners for a wonderful trip away for my family. Our son and daughter in law joined us and it was a much needed break for him from medical school. My only negative was when booking the trip we received several contracts from the management company that were either incomplete or wrong and we had to contact them to correct this. It was actually never corrected we ended up having to piece together a couple different pages to have a complete document. But I will say when we got to the house at 5 pm there was trash at the doorstep and when we called them they responded immediately. We highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to Canaan Valley!

Unbelievable vacation home!

We had the best time visiting Canaan Valley! It was hard to leave the cozy, comfortable vacation home, but visiting the majestic Blackwater Falls and breathtaking Lindy Point made it worthwhile. There were so many thoughtful extras in the house, and the views were spectacular throughout. Our puppy got to live her best life too. Thank you for everything you did to make our stay so lovely!
