    Enjoy a gated beachfront community, and beautiful views of the water from the private deck. The large open great room and huge kitchen make togetherness ideal. A large, partially-covered deck overlooks the beach. Outside two of the upstairs bedrooms, there’s a porch that also overlooks the beach below.

    Island Sunrise is on the East end of Dauphin Island, which is the perfect place for bike riding. Explore historic Ft. Gaines, take a ferry ride across the Bay, learn about sea life at the local estuarium, or fish and play in the beautiful Gulf waters.

Awesome views and location

This house is in a very quiet neighborhood with amazing views of the Gulf. The beach is really nice. Very relaxing environment!

Location is great, but no beach left after storm

The house is right on the water. and there is no beach as it has been washed away. We enjoyed staying on the island and all of the amenities that are on the island. The house could use some work. The lower Deck is in bad shape and needs repaired, multiple spindles need to be replaced or even put back as they are missing.

We had 6 adults and 2 grandkids, could not have had a better experience! Brought a lot of cookware, but everything we needed was already stocked. Didn't use the grills but there were propane and charcoal (small) grills. Beach access right out the back door. I highly recommend this property.

The house was beautiful and the layout was perfect. The location was right on the beach. The views were spectacular. The businesses we visited were staffed with friendly helpful people. There was minor repairs needed on our rental such as nailhead needing nailed in on the deck but nothing that lessened our enjoyment during our stay. We will definitely be returning.

needs to update listing and pics, NO BEACH AREA, NONE. Entire first floor is destroyed which means you will have sand ALL in your unit your entire time AND back stairs are unusable. If your neighbor to the left has occupants, you willl have NO beach available.

We sat on the back deck and watched the dolphin swim by every morning. The house is not perfect but it is very functional for a large group with children. Luxurious, nope. Peaceful, exceptionally. Relaxing, for sure. Will I rent again if returning to the Island, definitely!! Great rental and will recommend to all.

Not what you see!!

I just left a more in depth review with this property on Vacasa. I don’t want to repeat the hole thing again but you can see it there. A brief review is the property is run down and doesn’t look like the pictures. There is no way to get to the beach from the back deck you would be in the gulf. We had so many problems in one week that it was exhausting and I don’t feel like I even had a vacation at all .

BEST SPRING BREAK EVER!!!!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the best time at this home and location. Private and very low key is what we were looking forward to. The home was great and fit us and our 6 kids perfectly. We had 4 teenagers and they were never bored and loved walking the beaches in the morning and at night. Being close to the bird sanctuary was nice because we were able to take walks. We were close to the Sea Lab and Fort Gaines and was able to experience them both during our stay . Home is conveniently located close to the ferry boat and we enjoyed our day in Orange Beach. Never knew how close they were! The water was amazing and loved seeing all the dolphins swim past all parts of the day. Property was just like the photos and we would love to come back again!!!!! Already talked to several people back home and all are attempting to book vacations!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here the end of July with 11 people (4 adults and 7 teenage kids ages 10-16) and it was perfect. Plenty of space, perfect location on the beach and so peaceful and relaxing. Great deck to chill on all day long, beach was wonderful, we took a tent for shade. You can walk each direction on the beach for at least 45 mins. each way. This property has been "lived in" but I have pretty high standards and felt very comfortable. Lived in= spots on carpet, scruffs on the wall, etc... Nothing that will stop a perfect vacation, nor anything I would consider surprising in a beach vacation rental. But, if you have really high expectations you might be disappointed. We would 100% go back, but have too many other places on our list. Highly recommend renting bikes for a day and explore the island, we did a fun island "hop" of all the local restaurants and it was really fun.

Beautiful Get A Way

The view was absolutely amazing. The location was in a gated community which was nice and secure. The property itself was very clean but just needed some upkeep on the wear n tear of the house. The deck chairs were falling apart nails catching clothing. The TV in the left upstairs room didn’t work. The pictures definitely need to be updated on the listing. The beach is very small which was ok because we’re just sunbathing in it but deceiving from the pictures on the listing. Make sure you bring laundry soap, dish soap and dishwasher detergent. They give you very minimal for the weeks stay we had to purchase more of all. Overall beautiful home great location but for the price Vacasa ( the management company) definitely needs to do some repairs/updates in between rental weeks/days. We had to reach out to Vacasa the day of check in because we never received check in instructions. Also renting a golf cart made maneuvering the island easy and fun!

Reviewer Comments: The location was great, the house was nice but it was not as expected, they need updated pics, main living room had faded denim sofas, pics posted showed very pretty yellow and blue stripe sofas. bedrooms were different than pics also. A light had been broken outside upper deck when we arrived and they sent some young teen guys to clean it up and they swept it and it fell on below deck and several of us got glass in our feet on the 1st night. Air unit downstairs was not working 1st night but they did repair the next day. 2 lounge chairs on upper deck was completely broken and laying on floor of deck and a refrigerator drawer was broken and made it hard to use it and drawer below it in frig. We reported all these things upon arrival and at departure. I would recommend this house to a friend but would tell them to ask about all these issues before booking.

2016 Family Vacation

Reviewer Comments: Our entire family of 9 persons,consisting of 2 grandparents, 2 children and their families stayed at Island Sunrise for a week beginning June 25, 2016. Although the travel time was much more than anticipated, the house was exactly as described on the website to our delight. The layout was perfect for our family, especially the open living area. The decks were great and thankfully they had been screened so that our little one, age 1, could not fall through the railings. The beach area was larger than anticipated after the reviews that we had read. The water temperature was extremely warm, almost to the point of not being refreshing and was pretty dirty with large globs of jellyfish-like balls everywhere. Other than that, our stay was fantastic. I do believe there needs to be more eating establishments as the selection for our night out was minimal. We had a couple of issues that were resolved in a timely manner with the house; cable was out for a time and the grills were pretty dirty; management responded very quickly. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Island Sunrise could be the greatest house ever but sadly it needs updating badly. It's a big house, best location but the upstairs is in dire need of updating along with all the appliances. The refrigerator had a puddle of bloody water in the bottom & smelled horrible (not a pleasant task to clean up!). The icemake has a hole in it & the ice just falls out. The cook top barely works, the master bath toilet runs constantly. All the pictutes need to be updated. They must be from when the house was new. New mattresses please! We loved the house & the location but owners please bring it up to the standard you'd expect for the island! If the updates were made - new appliances, mattresses, general maintenance inside (vacuum had no bag!, light bulbs out), this house would be absolutely perfect!

Suggestions would be to maintain the back stairs as nails are sticking up and we had to put shells over them so no one would have a nail go through their foot. Front door bolt is Very hard to lock/unlock. Rugs were left in drier and by the way makes a horrible noise. Kitchen pots/pans are horrible, either scratched up or rusted. Foods pieces in the silverware draw, hair on glasses. Pillows were awful...bring your own! Make sure to bring everything as they only supply 1-2 dishwasher tabs, bring a filter for the coffee pot! Also UPDATE your website! The pictures on there DO NOT look like it is NOW. The furniture is different and lost part of the dock during a hurricane! Also That so called gaming area is the landing upstairs where there is no room and no TV was even there. Oven only seems to cook on Top Rack, put anything in the middle takes forever. Ice maker on Fridge does not work properly.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and I go to the beach every year. This year I brought my new husband's family and they had a great time. My time was ruined from the moment i started unpacking. The house was dirty, it needed a deep clean and updating. The pots and pans couldnt be used, the drawers in the kitchen were filthy. The blinds in the kitchen and one in the upstairs bedroom were broken. And the bed in one room was slanted!!! There were only 4 chairs on deck for 10 people, and no table, no lounge chairs for the sun and one chair on the upstairs deck was broken. There was no hammock as stated...and under the house was trash. My family was happy but I was not!!! 4000 dollars is a lot to pay for a place this bad. The upside...i called and emailed the property manager and they fixed what they could while we were there, and were very pleasant. BUT what makes this place their money is NOT the house, but its place on the beach. So if u dont mind a house in desperate need of an update and a deep clean, then u will love the beach...and the island is amazing. But this way!!!

House Issues

Received a phone call the day before we were to leave stating that the property was no longer available due to the stovetop having been damaged recently by a lightning strike. The property we were offered as an alternative was not comparable to what we booked. We let them know that if they were to provide a hotplate the stove would not be an issue as we planned on BBQing a lot anyway. Crisis averted, or so we thought. When we arrived yhe first thing we noticed was yellow caution tape around the stilts of the house and keep out signs posted. Almost the entire underside of the house was washed out and the concrete cracked and fallen. On the back of the house the stairs and lower deck were damaged and inaccessible. This left the only access to the beach from the front door and walking around the house. Based on speaking with people who lived around there the damage was from Christobal in June, nearly 2 and a half months before our trip took place. We contacted the local agent and they took care of some minor things for us (hose to reach front porch so we could rise feet off and securing the gate to the damaged stairs to keep the kids from going down them). After this we were assured that something would be done and that we would hear from them soon. This has not happened after repeated emails. We enjoyed the beach but the way in which this was handled and the deceptive attempt to get us not to stay there on extremly short notice leaves a lot to be desired.

From the ridiculous to the sublime

When we arrived, we were disappointed that the beach area in no way resembled the online pictures of the property. Beach erosion was extensive and there was very little beach. There were also tree stumps in the water that caused a problem for swimming directly in front of the property. The WiFi didn’t work, nor did the color on the TVs. Apparently something was wrong with the cable. One of our sons in law went up the steps from the beach and on the way back down the support for the steps collapsed. He was not hurt but we were forced to use the front door to access the beach for the remainder of the week. The first time we did laundry the washer leaked all over the laundry room floor. After calling the corporate office, an exceptionally helpful lady named Candace and a repairman named Allen came to our rescue. She got our WiFi sorted out Allen blocked off access to the stairs for safety, and brought us a new washing machine. Alas, nothing could be done about the color in the TV but black and white was ok. After the horrendous start of our vacation week, it became a good week. We adjusted to having to go the long way around to the short strip of beach and being so close to the house from the water made it simpler to get to the picnic table and swing under the deck. The house itself was great. The bedrooms were wonderful with extra balconies and there was ample room for everyone in the living area. Incredibly enough, by the end of the week our family decided that the next time we go to the beach, we are going to book this house again!
