Mohican Hideaway is an eco-luxury glamping dome nestled in the foothills of Brinkhaven, Ohio. Whether a romantic getaway or cozy family retreat, the dome is ideal for everyone. If the Eclipse is booked for the dates you are wanting, please check out our other dome on site—The Stargazer.
The dome features a queens size bed with a panoramic view overlooking the forest with glimpses of the Mohican River and a cozy loft with a double bed (the loft area requires a short climb up a secured ladder for access). Adding to the atmosphere is a large projector that is viewable from both beds making the space twice as cozy and perfect for watching movies on those rainy days. A kitchenette and dining area fully equipped to make almost any meal—ideal for a romantic weekend in the woods. The space also includes a full luxury bathroom with shower and locally sourced toiletries, desk space, and a small pantry area.
In addition to the luxurious interior, the exterior boasts a spacious furnished patio with a hot tub, multiple seating areas, outdoor fire pit and a wood pellet grill. The property is 7 acres with 2 large fields and a small forest guests can explore.
As of 2023 do have a second dome on property available for other guests to book. The domes are completely separate. Each has its own private patio, hot tub, fire pit and grill area. We have them spaced 100 feet apart with a privacy fence between them for extra guest privacy. The domes/guests share the parking area, laundry center, pathway, riverfront access and other parts of the property (woods/fields). Keep in mind our property is 7 acres and has plenty of space and privacy even with two dome. Please respect the other guests privacy and do not go in the vicinity of the other dome as we do ask the same from them.

WIFI:
We have Starlink internet (as of 11/2023) and at this time we have had no issues arise thus far.
RIVER:
The riverfront is a short 1/4 mile walk from the dome and has a kayak/canoe landing area. For guests who bring a kayak/canoe we have (1) kayak/canoe cart to help make the trek to the river a more pleasant experience. Greer landing is located a short 7-10 min. drive and is the ideal place to drop in and float down the river, landing back at Mohican Hideaway.
FROM GREER LANDING:

LAUNDRY CENTER:
Guests have access to the laundry center which includes a washer and dryer, folding table, clothes rack to hang wet clothing and outdoor spigot.
GUEST ACCESS:
Entire space, river access and laundry center plus 7 acres of property to explore. Please make yourself at home and respect the property lines (noted with signage) as well as other guests staying on-site when exploring. The laundry center and other parts of the property outside the private dome space/patio may have other guests—please respect other guests privacy and do not go near the vicinity of the other dome as we ask the same from them.
PARKING:
A small paved area is available to park up to 4 vehicles. Please note the driveway is steep.

PATHWAY:
The dome is located a short walk from the parking area (approx. 350 ft) and has a slight decline at the end of the pathway toward the dome. Please Bring appropriate shoes for the weather (rain, snow, etc.).

SHARED SPACE:
The domes/guests share the parking area, laundry center, pathway, riverfront access and other parts of the property (woods/fields).
We are available via phone or messaging in the app. You will be able to self check-in upon arrival.

DRIVING:
The route to the property include scenic countryside views and dirt roads—especially the last .5 miles. Please take extra care when driving to our property. You will need a vehicle if you plan to explore the local area.
PLEASE ADVISE, during winter months AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended. We have a steep driveway and many gravel roads in the area.
CELL PHONE SERVICE:
Cell phone service on the drive to the property can be sporadic. Cell phone service does work on the property for select carriers—Verizon and sprint. Any other carriers we cannot confirm in full at this time but we do offer wifi inside the dome.

ACCESSIBILITY:
The dome is located a short walk from the parking area (approx. 350 ft) and has a slight decline at the end of the pathway toward the dome. Please Bring appropriate shoes for the weather (rain, snow, etc.).
FIREWOOD:
We provide a select amount of firewood. Firewood is available to purchase at the BP in Danville along US-62 in town.
STEPS:
The dome has 1 step to enter the dome.
The bathroom also has 1 small step to enter.
Hot tub has 3 steps and a step-over-side entry.

LOFT: Second level. Loft has a permanent loft ladder for access with 7 rungs (8ft) - must be able to climb ladder to access loft.
SEVERE WEATHER:
In the event of severe weather its important for guests to know that our dome is rated for hurricane force winds and the frame itself is very strong. The dome frame/structure is designed of inter-connected triangle frame parts that give it unparalleled strength should anything fall on the dome and the frame is completely bolted to the cement foundation making it secured. Our bathroom inside the dome has a steel frame making is the best place to take shelter during severe weather. We do not recommend guests leave the property during severe weather, rather take shelter in the bathroom until the weather has passed.
