This holiday cottage, converted from former stables, is attached to the owner's residence and another cottage (H85G009827) on a 1,200 m² enclosed property in the village of Damvix, set back from the road in the heart of the Marais Poitevin. The cottage overlooks the Conche des Oisiliers (a small private waterway) and features an awning to keep it cool. It is close to the Sèvre Niortaise river and the Damvix boat landing. This single-story house comprises a living/dining/kitchen area (with a wood-burning stove), a shower room/WC, and two bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed and the other with two single beds). Wi-Fi and smart TV are provided. Outside, there is a private terrace overlooking the Conche des Oisiliers (garden furniture, deck chairs, barbecue) and an adjoining shaded garden. Shared facilities with the other cottage include a pétanque court and parking. Rowboats, canoes, and pedal boats are available free of charge at any time (2 rowboats, 2 canoes, 1 pedal boat), with life jackets and maps. Fishing is permitted on site. Shops are located on site (bakery, mini-market, butcher, honey shop, pharmacy, doctor, nursing office, physiotherapists, and osteopath). There is a small market on Wednesdays. A public swimming pool is open in Benet (13 km) during the summer afternoons. Lake Xanton-Chassenon is 19 km away. The Scarecrow Festival takes place in Damvix starting in May (a fun, signposted 3 km walking trail, taking 1 hour). Bicycle rentals are available at the Damvix boat landing (10 m away). Also on site: a tourist train in the afternoon: the TCHOU TCHOU. The Damvix Museum and its exhibition are also worth a visit.
