I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction regarding my recent stay in Dallas, which I booked through Expedia.
I specifically reserved a room with two queen beds, as I was traveling with my family and needed proper sleeping accommodations. However, upon check-in and entering the room, I discovered that the room provided had one king bed and one sofa bed, and the overall room size was much smaller than what I had booked.
I immediately returned to the front desk to report the issue, believing that the wrong room had been assigned to me. At that point, I was informed that the hotel was overbooked, and that this was the only remaining room available. I was also told that there was another room I could look at, but that it had an air-conditioning problem and moisture on the floor, and I was asked to go see the room and decide for myself. This option was clearly unacceptable.
What disappointed me further was being told that because I booked through a third-party platform, this inconvenience was “unavoidable,” and that I should have booked directly with the hotel to prevent such issues. I found this explanation irresponsible and unfair, as the responsibility to honor the confirmed reservation should lie with the hotel regardless of the booking channel.
Left with no real alternative late at night, I had no choice but to return to the originally assigned room and manually set up the sofa bed for my daughter. Unfortunately, the sofa bed mattress was severely worn out
